To wonder why people take skincare advice from Caroline Hirons

I am by no means a dermatologist, however my best friend is a dermatologist. This has mean't I have I have had good advice on any skin issue me or dc have had.

I have seen Caroline Hirons appear on This Morning a lot recently. I think it is quite concerning that someone without medical qualifications is talking about medical conditions. Acne is a medical condition, while not everything Caroline says is inaccurate and she does give some advice which may be beneficial, it seems absolutely bizarre that This Morning would give her platform to talk on acne despite no medical background, especially considering such a program could easily get a number of dermatologists to go on there. Even on the internet there are many dermatologists which give medical advice like Dr Dray.

After discovering Caroline I looked up her opinion on Cetaphil, the cleanser my friend (the derm) swears by. She was saying the ingredients were awful and would leave you dry, the opposite is true the ingredients are absolutely fine and it is likely one of the most gentle cleansers on the market.

AIBU to wonder why people respect her opinion on skincare so much. I do like her personality and she gives good advice a lot of the time. But some of her advice/recommendations are questionable. At the end of the day acne is a medical condition so a TV show should have a medical professional talking about it.
