So sad about the Ford plant. I just don't get how the so called Brexiters can be still feeling good about it all. Upsetting to see the country being wrecked for no good reason.

A vote that should never have been given . The country is divided and fucked ( pardon my French)

ssd · 06/06/2019 22:54

Am sure there will be lots of remain voter in that plant who are doubly sickened by this.

Cinammoncake · 06/06/2019 22:58

I'm sure there are ssd and they must feel sick about it all. I wasn't suggesting people who worked there all voted for it. It's so divisive. It's the tip of the iceberg I fear and many many more people in the country will have their lives ruined. At what point might people who voted Brexit wake up and realise it may not be a good idea.

I honestly think now some people have got the mentality that, well I voted leave in the referendum, so it must be a good idea. Even though they'd have given precisely no shits about leaving Europe say 5 years beforehand.

Tsk that’s just project fear! Oh, no, shit, wait it’s true.

tomtom1999xx · 06/06/2019 23:15

I heard on the news it was nothing to do with brexit. People just aren’t buying what that particular factory is making anymore.
well, not enough people.

ssd · 06/06/2019 23:16

I can't understand it unless you have a cushion of money to protect your family from the future if brexit occurs.

tomtom1999xx · 06/06/2019 23:18

There were car plant & factory closers before brexit was a twinkle in Boris Johnson’s eye.

Cinammoncake · 06/06/2019 23:24

nothing to do with Brexit Hmm right oh

whole automotive industry in the UK going down the toilet since Brexit and that's all just a coincidence

The plant made engines for Jaguar Land Rover. That contract finishes in 2020 iirc.

Contraceptionismyfriend · 07/06/2019 00:07

The Bridgend closure has nothing to do with Brexit. Anyone who knows the place knows it's was run into the ground by shitty management before Brexit.

IGottaSeeJane · 07/06/2019 00:32

Ford have also shut their Bordeaux plant so I reckon the "nothing to do with Brexit" line might be right (I voted "remain" BTW).
