to be exasperated with school's hit n miss approach to exams

ok, so it's only year 7 and seems a bit ott to get excited but school decided to email parents asking them to work on a revision timetable and send out a revision list for each subject.

we have a really hard to motivate DD.

we wanted to back the school and our daugher's learning up.

the exams were finally scheduled two weeks after school sent the 'your child should know when their exams are and have drawn up a revision timetable' email.

then at least one teacher doesn't give workbooks out so no notes to revise from.

asked school if this was true or if DD pulling a fast one - no reply.

so we do a session each day over half-term - not too much but just enough to hopefully demonstrate that when you prepare a topic you can answer the question and it makes a difference i.e revision works.

day 1.

1st exam doesn't happen - oh, it'll be next week
2nd exam - essay question not on topic indicated on revision sheet.

ARGH

all i wanted to was to move DD away from her staunchly held beliefs 'if i ignore them they'll go away' and 'what's the point in revising it won't make any difference anyway'
