So I'm shortly due my first baby. Have -far too many- baby grows etc. Aibu to not wash them all before use? And if I do wash them is it okay to use normal non bio and fabric softener? I don't have a clue about baby clothes. There is so much I just don't know if I can face it 🙈 also I know it sounds silly but they are all so soft and lovely atm and I know as soon as I wash them they won't look as nice. I know this is a ridiculous thing to say! Dh has suggested taking to cleaners in a big bag.

Bio is fine. the uk is the only country where people “react” to enzymes - in reality for about 99% of people react to perfume, not enzymes.
non-bio is basically detergent with the active ingredient removed....

I washed everything that was gifted by other people purely because of other people having pets/being smokers etc. It was just easier to wash all the gifts than pick through everything!

I didn’t wash anything that we bought though.

I washed everything first - the clothes looked fine after a wash... less fine when they had vomit, pee and poo over them though 😂

I also really like the smell of non bio so it wasn't an issue for me - we wash all the clothes (adults/kids) together in non bio.

I washed everything because of the chemicals on clothes and the fact that clothes may have been on the shop/warehouse floor.
