Theft or just a bit cheeky?

My colleague (Healthcare) brags about scamming the self scan machine at supermarkets and how she's taken plants/garden furniture/electrical goods/clothes - all without paying.
etc.

We care for the most vulnerable people. I have reported her. But now?I'm the bad guy.

Totally theft!

aibutohavethisusername · 03/06/2019 17:40

Theft

KipperTheFrog · 03/06/2019 17:41

Theft. No question about it.

MelanieCheeks · 03/06/2019 17:42

How is it anything OTHER than theft?

ItchySeveredFoot · 03/06/2019 17:42

Theft! When you said scamming the self service I thought you meant the odd chocolate bar or something, which is still theft but not quite as blatant. Furniture!?

bellajay · 03/06/2019 17:42

Agree it’s theft. I also thought you were saying your colleague was called Healthcare for a moment. I like it Grin

MyKingdomForBrie · 03/06/2019 17:42

A bit cheeky?! How on earth could it be 'just a bit cheeky'?

Lifeisabeach09 · 03/06/2019 17:44

Reported her to whom?
Definitely theft and definitely something I wouldn't brag about!

KitKat1985 · 03/06/2019 17:44

Blatant theft. Who have you reported her to? The police or her work?

NotSuchASmugMarriedNow1 · 03/06/2019 17:44

Who have you reported her to?

Geminijes · 03/06/2019 17:44

It's shop lifting. Definitely theft.

It's because of people like her that prices are high so the shops can 'recover' some value of stolen goods.

DoneLikeAKipper · 03/06/2019 17:45

I’m confused. Firstly, how could anyone think this was ‘a bit cheeky’ and secondly what does her job have to do with? Who exactly have you reported her to and with what evidence?

IsAStormApporaching · 03/06/2019 17:47

If she is so open about stealing from a shop, who knows what she may be taking from the people she is looking after.
Well done OP for protecting these vulnerable people.

Leeds2 · 03/06/2019 17:47

Who have you reported her to? And why are you now the bad guy? Does she know that you have reported her?

TestingTestingWonTooFree · 03/06/2019 17:49

Course it’s theft. Did you report to the police or your professional body?

Walnutwhipster · 03/06/2019 17:52

It is theft but I wouldn't have reported her to your employers, I'm assuming that's who you told. You had no proof.

SavoyCabbage · 03/06/2019 17:52

How can you take electrical goods and garden furniture through the self scanner without paying? I've heard of people scanning through their avocados as carrots but not a garden table.Confused

Antigon · 03/06/2019 17:54

How on earth could this be ‘just a bit cheeky’? Confused

Henrysmycat · 03/06/2019 17:55

The OP said they are in a caring profession, so yes, who knows if that person doesn’t steal just from Asda/Tesco’s/etc but also from the vulnerable people they care for?

OP, it’s theft. I thought you’d say about the new hobby of collecting broken piece of plants from garden centres and grow plants from them.

Namechangeforthiscancershit · 03/06/2019 18:02

A bit cheeky?

Definitely theft

TheRedFox · 03/06/2019 18:02

Theft. No question about it. Look up the legal definition if anyone says you're the bad guy.

AJPTaylor · 03/06/2019 18:04

Brazen shoplifting

NeatFreakMama · 03/06/2019 18:05

Theft but what does her job have to do with anything, did you report her to her work?

UnicornBrexit · 03/06/2019 18:10

Theft but what does her job have to do with anything, did you report her to her work?

If shes buying for clients, shoplifting and pocketing the cash then that makes it a work issue

LuckyLou7 · 03/06/2019 18:13

To work in healthcare, you have to have a clean DBS.
