To want to stay at home with children, even though I've always been against it?

I've always believed (and still do) that providing financially shouldn't just fall on one partner. I believe I need to safeguard my own future. I believe it's sexist and wrong that I should feel pressure to stay home while DH doesn't.

But. A week off. I feel like a new woman.

I want to give up work so much Sad

What is your job as I think some careers are less affected by gaps.

What about going part time?

OP It was ever thus. Possibly worth discussing with OH/DH? How many DC do you have if any? I think most of us would like to escape the rat race. It's how you do it that has always been the conundrum. n another thread there's a SAHM whose DH is beating his brains out and unhappy - but has the chance of a lift in his profession (where he'll probably also beat his brains out) in different country. But she's comfortable in her life and doesn't want to move from her comfort zone. Its all horses for courses and the only thing you can do is discuss and do the math.
