I had significant morning sickness during my first three pregnancies. I'm now pregnant again and getting none. AIBU to worry?

I'm about 6 weeks and almost 42, and well aware of the scary miscarriage stats. Reluctant to get an early scan as I don't think it would necessarily reassure me.

Is there anyone out there who has experienced several consecutive vomit-filled first trimesters followed by one without any sickness at all? Or should I be preparing myself for a loss?

I bled very heavily in one of three successful pregnancies, and lightly in another one. The pregnancy I bled heavily with was also the pregnancy I had no nausea at all with.

Best wishes to you OP.

Totally normal, OP. I had four pregnancies, the first a MC. I was extremely sick for all but the fourth, and I was convinced something was wrong. I had no nausea at all, just a bit tired. He was absolutely fine. My midwife just said "Well, it's a different baby!". Best of luck to you.

MrsTerryPratchett · 05/06/2019 15:34

I'm sorry Thanks

Pinkvoid · 05/06/2019 15:45

I didn’t have sickness with three of my pregnancies. Two of them were my DD’s so completely fine, no issues. One was a missed miscarriage but I also had a second missed miscarriage where I did have terrible nausea so I don’t think it actually means much.

Four days to go until the scan. I've got a very busy time work-wise, and the DCs have a lot on too. Time, though, is passing so slowly. How do I cope with the wait?

24 hours until the scan. Bricking it.

Good luck. Hope all works out well for you. Flowers

MulticolourMophead · 09/06/2019 20:31

Good luck! Thanks I hope it all turns out fine.

FWIW, I never had morning sickness at all with my 2. Just fucking horrendous heartburn from about 3 months until the births. Both times it got so bad I was sleeping almost completely sat up. So fingers crossed this pregnancy is just different for you, and not in trouble.

Twinkledontinkle · 09/06/2019 20:47

Hope all goes well. Are you still bleeding? Xx

MrsTerryPratchett · 09/06/2019 21:28

Good luck xx

tinatsarina · 09/06/2019 21:59

I hope its ok for you. I had a MC in Feb/march I had sickness at the start baby died at 8 weeks but bleeding didn't happen until 9 weeks, got the scan confirming no heartbeat when I was supposed to be 10 weeks. The waiting was the worst. Hopefully yours won't be like that. There's lots of stories about bleeding and the pregnancy being fine.

WishUponAStar88 · 09/06/2019 22:03

Good luck tomorrow op Flowers

Mumbaikar · 10/06/2019 08:21

Good luck.

MulticolourMophead · 10/06/2019 08:28

OP, I dont know if you ever can prepare completely.

If you're able to, keep on with anything that's a distraction or which you find calming. My fingers are crossed for you. 💐

ChequersDog · 10/06/2019 08:33

Good luck. I’ve had a miscarriage and two successful pregnancies.

Miscarriage: sickness, bleeding was start of miscarriage
Boy: no sickness, no bleeding until late pregnancy
Girl: sickness, bleeding which turned out to be nothing.

Unless you’ve had heavy bleeding and cramping this really could go either way.

Good luck at the scan.

HalfBloodPrincess · 10/06/2019 08:35

Was in a similar position last year with my 4th pregnancy, and unfortunately it wasn’t good news for me, but I had a thread on here at the time and the positive stories outweighed the negative.
Best advice I had was to try and prepare for the worst outcome. Good luck OP I hope it’s good news for you 🤞🏻

ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts · 10/06/2019 08:50

I hope the scan went well.

Sparklybanana · 10/06/2019 09:11

I know this is against the grain of these posts but I've been in your shoes op and the false hope is awful. Lack of nausea was a key thing for my mcs and whilst I have had mc with symptoms, it's not a great sign. Bleeding slowly is also not a good sign although I lost a lot of blood in a spurt with my ds at 7 weeks and it was OK.
I think it's good that you're having a scan but please prepare for the worst. I'm not saying it'll make it feel better but the feeling of hope lost is awful. Be prepared also that you may not have an answer at the scan. you may have to wait a further few weeks for confirmation. The waiting is the worst. Hope you stay strong x
