Complaints about noise in town.

I have just read on our town forum about a woman is complaining about the noise from the only night club in town. It's been there for nearly 40 years. There are no houses within 200 yards of the club. It seems she moved in 2 months ago and has already sent over 500 complaints about the noise to the council.
This is all being played out on FB, her next door neighbour said that he has never been bother about any noise. People on the same estate also say they are not disturbed by anything. She has now demanded that the nightclub is closed down. And is also complaining that we have not welcomed her to our town.
She has tried to get up a petition but has only got 10 names and these are her family.
My son lives within 500 yards of this nightclub and he also says he cannot hear anything and he has 2 young children.

If you want to be welcomed to an area why tell lies. This town only has 20,000 people that live here. Small and friendly.

Its what some people do.

We had a new estate where those that moved in were from the south east.
Within two months of moving in they had made many complaints about where they had chosen to move to.

In the end they did successfully close down several businesses and successfully ostracised themselves from the rest of the town.

I hope that doesn't happen. Across from where this lady lives the people on a new estate they are complaining about the road noise, this was put in so they could access the estate they live on.
The mind boggles how people think.

A couple of times, people have bought houses close to pubs in the town where I live and then complained about noise from the pub. One couple, who only use the house at weekends and stay in London during the week, objected (unsuccessfully) to pub the opposite having their music licence renewed.

Why buy a house right by a pub if you want peace and quiet, ffs?

A few years ago, someone was moaning on the local online forum about the noise of police sirens - they'd bought a house about 200 yards from police HQ!

People are just ridiculous sometimes.

I grew up in a house attached to a pub in a well heeled town. We occasionally had some rowdiness (barrels rolled down the hill, a few rogue pissers) but over a 14 year period it happened less than four times.

We moved and apparently the people who moved in made so many complaints this pub, which has been there for hundreds of years (the house we lived in itself was a brewery!) temporarily lost their license.

They've now moved but who moves into a house attached to a pub and then complain about the pub?Confused
