To think you bring new examples to an interview?

When you are interviewed, do you think of new competency based examples to discuss or do you speak about the ones you already mentioned in a competency based application? I always thought you had to bring up fresh examples as a way of fully demonstrating a variety of experience, or is an interview "score sheet" seen as a fresh slate?

Depend on the type of interview. Where I work (public sector) sometimes those who paper sift are different to those who interview so you can get away with it. Otherwise choose different ones.

I've had both - some where new examples are expected, and some where they want you to expand and discuss the examples you've already given (in one interview they talked at length about something I'd given a short description of on my application.)
But I uess the more exmples you have to show competence the better, you could say ' well as well asxamples I outlined in my application I have also ........)
Have plenty up your sleeve to cove bases.

In my experience in public sector both interviewing and being interviewed its technically a clean sheet and you can use the same examples. However this can limit your depth and or breadth within a competency/behaviour. I would always have a additional examples prepared but would use the example that best fit the question on the day. Also some interviewers will specifically ask for a different example.

Last time I was interviewed for public sector role I found the interview very much “application driven” and mostly they wanted me to expand on the competency examples I’d already given.
Once the interview progressed further, it became a little more ad hoc (and less formal) and further examples/how I would react differently in the specific environment.

I found it useful that I had already whittled down my examples and had I couple in the back pocket so to speak, but I didn’t feel it was necessary.
