To ask for tips for first day in new job?

Long story short start a new job tomorrow after being made redundant in the last one.

Any tips to make sure start the first day well?

It’s a senior-ish officer job if that helps....

Even if they don't have passes you might still get your photo taken on your first day for intranet/similar. I recommend not getting yourself lumbered with a hideous photo for the next however many years like me

A map of where everyone sits can be what helps to settle in. And don't be afraid to ask questions about how they do things as you go along. There might be things particular to their "culture" that they forget to tell you - like standard forms or templates, deadlines to submit expenses claims, etc.

Remember it will take about 3 months normally before it feels like your workplace, so don't put too much pressure on yourself.
