I'm in the states. It's after midnight here and I'm tipsy, but my husband is playing final fantasy like a kid. How are you Saturdays going?

I am laying in bed like broccoli whilst eldest dd is watching YouTube downstairs. Youngest dd is still in bed so might get up when she does.

Mastmw7g · 25/05/2019 08:43

@Soubriquet. That is refreshing. It's nice to think mother's everywhere are ready to give up their kids for adoption if they don't pack it in. I actually really like my husband, so lately I keep thinking of how easy life would be if it was just us. It's less fun to live with a teenager who remarkably can see while still rolling her eyes at me so often.

It's going to be a long day for us. Been up since 7 with ds. Dh is working all day, from 8am, he won't be home until between 11-11.30 tonight, he will have a break though.

Soubriquet · 25/05/2019 08:46

Seriously. They have been up since 6.45 and have not stopped bickering and then having a crying tantrum because they aren’t getting their own way.

Mastmw7g · 25/05/2019 08:47

@b0bb1n Do it. Eat the chocolate pudding for all of us. (And, aside: Squeee! A baby... Sorry about the 3am, but... A baby!)

Meant to say it will be just ds and I all day. I've got things to do round the house so will be getting on with that. Hopefully he will be happy and play, or be my little helper. I get "I help you mummy". I love that it's so sweet

Stravapalava · 25/05/2019 08:55

I'm up with the youngest DC. She's had some breakfast and is watching Wallace and Gromit.

DC1 and DH are still in bed.

We're going to the cinema and then the park later.

Mastmw7g · 25/05/2019 08:55

@DoneLikeAKipper It's not that glamorous. It's more of a career for an unmarried man without kids, because there's always a 20-some year old willing to work 30 more hours a week than you for less money, because it's "cool." But maybe someday it will seem glamorous.

Despite DD2 announcing last night that she was going to have a lie in, both of mine were wide awake by 5.30 this morning. Hmm As was I. Decided to make the most of the early morning sunshine so we went out for a family run around 7.00 (well, DD2 took her scooter). We did 5k and have just finished a leisurely breakfast. I’m sitting on the sofa with a dressing gown on over my running kit contemplating another coffee. Family coming over for a BBQ later so should really think about showering and going to ASDA but I CBA. I think I might have peaked for the day! Grin

It's 8.50 in the morning, the sun is coming out for what should be another hot day. I've watered the flower borders that are currently in the shade. Soon I'll go out and buy a newspaper with free weekly TV guide, I'll circle my TV choices (yes, my life really is this unexciting but that's ok by me) and do the giant crossword.

Early evening I'll visit my sister who is having a 40th wedding anniversary party (bit like a Christmas buffet but without the turkey) and I'm looking forward to this.

Mastmw7g · 25/05/2019 09:00

@mumdom What is it with everyone swimming? I'm in California. I guess I was about to say it's too cold for swimming, but DD did buy a suit the day before yesterday. I was just introduced to it. There isn't much to it. I'm going to pretend to be a person who doesn't pause when she sees her daughter in a string bikini.

I am awake. Can't decide if to play Minecraft or Neverwinter. I have no responsibility though. 😁

Adversecamber22 · 25/05/2019 09:00

DH has gone to park run, I go with him often but woke up late.we are walking in to town for brunch after he gets back. I’m on my second cup of tea in bed, Our DS is away all half term, we got drunk last night and had a curry at home and watched a horror film :) I also game and will go on my console later when DH catches up on sport he has recorded. We will also try and sort out the conifer that’s getting out of control in the front garden.

It’s 8:36 and I’m about to give my kids up for adoption if they don’t pack it in

This made me laugh! It does get better. Ours have flown the coop, they are still a bloody worry though, that never goes away.

09:06 and still in pj's, husband has gone in to work but home at 12. We're meeting friends for drinks later. Weather not the best.

mumdom · 25/05/2019 09:08

I had no idea Saturday swimming was so popular until this thread! I’m usually one of very few people in the pool, although the children’s pool is another story.

Jowak1 · 25/05/2019 09:09

I'm in bed having a cup of tea. I look forward to my Saturday mornings when we don't have to get up early for work and school. Kids lay in and came in to my bedroom and gave me big cuddles, might make another cuppa and put a load of washing on it looks nice out ☀️

SomethingNastyInTheBallPool · 25/05/2019 09:12

I’m on the sofa in my pyjamas with a second cup of coffee. Shopping’s just been delivered so I’ll need to heave myself up and put it away in a minute.

DP’s taken DD to speech therapy - they’ll be back at lunch time. After lunch, I’ll take DD to a monthly SN playgroup. Swimming (of course!) tomorrow morning.

Fraxion · 25/05/2019 09:13

I wish I had the motivation to go swimming, or do any exercise really! Once I start and get into it I'm good but getting the motivation isn't easy.

indianbackground · 25/05/2019 09:15

9.10 Still in bed though should’ve got it by now ..... 9.15. up now and pulled covers over so that i don’t just get back in.

Pinkprincess1978 · 25/05/2019 09:27

Having a lie in here but really should get up and ready as off to a bbq in a few hours and have my brother and his family coming later!

Ringdonna · 25/05/2019 09:40

Up at 530 or 6 every day, have washed car and shortly off to cycle up to bakers for fresh bread and rolls.

Ilove31415926535 · 25/05/2019 09:43

Trying to decide if I actually need to shower, or if I can just stick my clothes on, and shower later... Yeah, I know, MN isn't the place to discuss frequency of showering!! Grin don't fret folks, I showered yesterday, and fully intend to shower at some point today!
I have loads to do in the garden, but I really want to sit down with my Got books, and reread them!

kaytee87 · 25/05/2019 09:52

@Ilove31415926535 Garden just now then a nice shower and clean comfy clothes before sitting down with GoT books.
No point in showering before gardening.

ohcarriemathison · 25/05/2019 11:52

@Mastmw7g if I could choose I would stay in my jammies until noon and drink coffee and have croissants 🥐
I'm really looking forward to my youngest being older and praying for lazier mornings to come !
