If you could go for an impromptu Airbnb weekend break somewhere in the uk, just you and a 6 month old, to get away from it all, where would you go?

I'm incredibly down, lonely and anxious at the moment. I need a break somewhere beautiful...

Somewhere seasidey. Sorry I know it doesn't help much, but for me just being near the sea helps so much.

MrsMarmite1234 · 24/05/2019 22:08

For a city, York. For more something more peaceful, I’d probably book Center parcs. You’d be able to get an apartment there for roughly the same price as an Airbnb.

churchthecat · 24/05/2019 22:19

Bristol.

Aimily · 24/05/2019 22:23

I second Bristol, Bath is lovely too. I hope you're ok x

miamiibiza · 24/05/2019 22:27

Brighton

By the sea, and lovely quirky little shops xxx

DoNotDisturbPlease · 24/05/2019 22:28

Is it just you two? Have you got a partner? Any family members or friends or GP you could talk to? Get a handle on your feelings/PND and then enjoy yourself somewhere nice. Flowers

Haggisfish · 24/05/2019 22:29

Bedruthan steps hotel.

CripsSandwiches · 24/05/2019 22:35

Whitstable if I fancied a more typical seaside or Edinburgh or York for a city break. Can you give us some more info. on what you fancy or what you're into?

CripsSandwiches · 24/05/2019 22:37

Ooo I also second Bath.

CastleCrasher · 24/05/2019 22:39

Ireland, North coast. So good for the soul.

aibutohavethisusername · 24/05/2019 22:39

Somewhere costal but echo a previous poster, who mentioned reaching out to someone Flowers

QuestionableMouse · 24/05/2019 22:40

How far do you want to travel?

Scarborough is nice and the premier Inn is very well located!

AguerosAngel · 24/05/2019 22:41

Not seasidey as such but the Lake District is my favourite place in the UK.

poorbuthappy · 24/05/2019 22:41

Closest decent seaside. So I could be all
dramatic and brooding yet still pratical with child. Grin

AnneLovesGilbert · 24/05/2019 22:42

Sheringham. Eat ice cream for lunch and fish and chips for dinner, listen to the waves on the beach and feel the salty air on your skin.

tellmeitsnotjustme · 24/05/2019 22:42

No partner anymore sadly, just me and my son. I have reached out and am on medication. Trying to heal and get over an abusive relationship. Want to spend some quality time with my son but can't afford to go abroad.

I can travel anywhere. I'm very lucky to live 10 minutes from a lovely beach already :)

York...lovely city. Visited last summer and loved it. Bless you x

RobinsEggBlue · 24/05/2019 22:45

Going to Edinburgh always soothes my soul. I hope you and your baby are ok

FreeFreesia · 24/05/2019 22:47

York for a day wandering round the city & then second day go out to Castle Howard. It's the most gorgeous setting and just chill in the gardens.

Scotland, the borders and just above if you can get there or even better the west coast. Scotland is incredibly beautiful.
Whoever said centreparcs is the equivalent of an Airbnb must be staying in some amazing rentals bc I’ve used Airbnb many many times for next to nothing and recently got a huge shock when costing up a short break at CP. Not saying it’s not worth it but you can have a beautiful rental for next to nothing (yes there are also expensive ones but I rented a fantastic cottage in the borders for 45£ a night, it was the most beautiful little place. Wouldn’t get you bike rental at CP Confused)

Time40 · 24/05/2019 23:06

Barafundle Bay. Tenby. Pembrokeshire in general.

Gertie75 · 24/05/2019 23:10

Lake District without a doubt.
