not sure how to approach this

Dd went for her afternoon session at nursery in a lidl size 6 pull up nappy. She has a pack of pampers size 7 pull ups there, as she's finally starting to show an interest in the potty

Anyway, we had a notification on the nursery app that her nappy had been changed at 4pm as it was wet. So we haven't been keeping as much of an eye on it as we normally do. But, we came to change it at bedtime (8pm) and noticed that she was still in the same nappy that she went in, and it was obviously very wet

I'm not sure how to approach this with the nursery, as it looks like the staff member lied about actually changing her nappy. I've never had to question something like this and I'm not sure how to go about it to be honest

As careless as it was, I'm not convinced it was intentional. Speak to a member of staff tomorrow and alert them. There could of been an issue elsewhere which distracted a member of staff from changing your daughter.

What time did you pick her up? Did you not notice her nappy was heavy before bed time?

Aquamarine1029 · 24/05/2019 21:37

I wouldn't say anything this time, because accusing someone of lying is not to be done lightly. It's possible someone made an honest mistake. However, the next time she goes, mark her nappy with a pen or marker and take a pic of her in it before you leave home. That way you'll be sure if she's been changed.

pinklemonade84 · 24/05/2019 21:39

Her nappy wasn't heavy when I picked her up and she's been playing in her grandparents' garden, so on the move a lot

I don't mind if it's a case of her nappy was dry and didn't need changing, it's the marking it down as wet and it obviously not being changed

I don't want to make a mountain out of what could potentially be a mole hill, as the staff member who apparently changed it, is dd's favourite, the one who she goes to for cuddles if she's sad and who she has the best bond with, so I don't want to create trouble for her

I think lying might have been the wrong choice of word on my part in my op

Dd is my first, so I've never had to deal with anything like this. I'll try your suggestion @Aquamarine1029 next time dd is in

I would assume it's a mistake not a lie. Why would they lie about it? Far more likely they recorded a nappy change against the wrong child by mistake, and then your child's nappy didn't get changed because it was recorded that it had been changed.

pinklemonade84 · 24/05/2019 21:46

@HobbyIsCodeForDogging if you'd read my last post, you'd see that I said lying/lie was a bad choice of words in my op

I'm shocked she was left in same nappy for that length of time tbh.

youarenotkiddingme · 24/05/2019 22:01

If she had size 6 before it's possible there was an odd one in her box and all the bigger ones placed on top had been used?

I've done that before!

BumbleBeee69 · 24/05/2019 22:01

no way I'd let this slip by unchallenged. That's a very long time to have that on her wee bum. You need to question this OP. Flowers

pinklemonade84 · 24/05/2019 22:04

I don't want to go in all guns blazing, as I've had no reason to question them before now. But it doesn't feel right to me that she's potentially been left this long. And I'm hoping if it was the case that it was just a genuine mistake

I like the idea of making a little mark on her nappy to check at home after pick up next time she's in

If indeed it is a mistake then they need to clarify this for you. Flowers

Catinthetwat · 24/05/2019 22:05

It must have been fine or you'd have changed it yourself. Just a mistake in communication, surely.

UhOhSpagettiOs · 24/05/2019 22:18

I can't get worked up over this. She would be in the same nappy longer than that overnight! Change her bum and move on, lovely

CripsSandwiches · 24/05/2019 22:33

I would also assume they had probably changed a different child and marked it as DD by accident. AS a one of incident I wouldn't be too concerned.
