To combine weight allowance - help quickly please

Flying in an hour.
So can I use baggage allowance across bags, eg 20kg allowed per case, so 40kg for 2 cases - one case is 25kg, the other 15 kg. Really don't want to unpack stuff and as we are collectively under weight will they allow this? Flying with Thomas Cook!

Just checked on Thomas cook site and it looks like it’s ok.

With Tui their maximum per case was 23kg per case, Thomas Cook is 30kg per case.

Oh bloody hell panicked after the first response and just unpacked and repacked four suitcases! Thanks anyway, at least I don't have to worry now!

Ive always had to have each and every bag under the weight allowance. Had to shuffle things by the check in desk occasionally

Most airlines allow it. May also depend om capabilities of the aircraft. The best I had was Aeroflot who had a limit of 23kg per bag. My husband had 18kg and then mine turned out to be 27kg. I offered to redistribute the stuff between cases but they were said there was no need, on this plane it's ok, we take the average, so long as any one suitcase is not significantly over 30kg.
