This really. And the last one. We need some higher calibre contestants again and a really good mix. I'd love to see Jo Brand, Jack Dee, David Baddiel, Dawn French, and especially Adam Buxton mixed other old school mixed with the young crew.

Romesh Ranganathan and the watermelon smash for the win...

Also loved Joe Wilkinson's oh so nearly legendary potato throwing and how most of the others threw him under the bus Grin

IDrinkAndISewThings · 23/05/2019 22:39

Husband and I agree, I LOVE Taskmaster but it's a hard watch this season, I just can't warm to any of the contestants!

BumbleBeeWineGlass · 23/05/2019 22:44

I love Iain Sterling, I've never heard of him before now, it would have been interesting to have all the inbetweeners as contestants.

I really want Ed Gamble and Daniel Sloss, Julian Barrett, Sue Perkins or Sandy Toksvig.

iklboo · 23/05/2019 22:46

Russell Howard was so full of himself he had no room for pudding.

EskewedBeef · 23/05/2019 22:48

Agreed on Russell Howard. His opinion of himself is far greater than the sum of his parts.

BumbleBeeWineGlass · 23/05/2019 22:49

I must admit, Russell Howard is my favourite comedian but I was disappointed by him in TM.

Noel Fielding was amazing (as always) as was Joe Lyectt,

I'd like to see someone like Claudia Winkleman on it, I think she'd be quite funny in the mix.

TwinsTrollsandHunz · 23/05/2019 22:53

Paul Sinha looks ill. I know he’s lost weight and all but he looks wrong. Clammy and strange around the eyes. Detached.

MoobaaMoobaa · 23/05/2019 23:04

I'm still enjoying it!

it is a bit flatter this series, and I didn't really know the contestants apart from Iain and Joe, but still.

I use to like Iain when he was on CBBC with hacker the dog.

We mainly laugh at the fact Joe actually wasn't acting for his parts in the Inbetweeners and fresh meat.

BloomsButtons · 23/05/2019 23:05

Love Taskmaster but Liza Tarbuck made me cringe she was so awful!

Ginkypig · 24/05/2019 01:04

Paul looks ill. Has anyone else noticed he has quite a pronounced shake?

Oh god your line up would be fucking brilliant!

Fluffiest · 24/05/2019 07:13

Agree that I've not laughed as much this time. But I did think the apologise to Alex task was great. Also Joe's awkward meeting with Sian was hilarious. I don't think he knew who she was (although I don't know who she is either!)

Fav moments overall for me are Lisa hopping and Nish blowing out his candle by accident when he said, "fuck bubbles!". Every time I remember that I get the giggles.

Kitsandkids · 24/05/2019 07:56

No, you’re wrong. It’s brilliant and has always been brilliant. I thought Joe’s hiding and running task was genius, and I love Sian. She seems exactly the same as she was in Car Share.

muldooon · 24/05/2019 08:40

Series six was the weakest for me. The show is best when the contestants viciously want to win. Nobody seemed bothered that series (and hence why I adored series seven).
I was at one of the studio recordings though and it gave me a healthy respect for Russell Howard. His ability to turn out a hilarious retort on the fly was unmatched.

I had low expectations for this series but have really enjoyed it. I've actually already seen next week's episode and would strongly recommend it

CaptainButtock · 24/05/2019 08:50

I don’t care how shit it is.
Worth watching for Greg Davies alone surely?
{froths}

Spacecadet43 · 24/05/2019 09:43

Can't put my finger on it but feel last few series have been lacklustre. I think it's become a bit formulaic? Girls in boiler suits trying to be kooky, 1 laddy comedy type, a geek etc. It works best when the focus is entirely on the tasks and if there is a bit of a competitive element. It feels like some of the contestants have become too self aware about how they are coming across or want to protect themselves rather than being just a brilliant game? Maybe it's just me who thinks that! It's still always a brilliant watch. I adore Greg, always have he makes the show in many ways - along with Alex's clever ideas.

I do know what you mean Cadet. The contestant have, for the most part, been less and less funny. I do like Joe Thomas though.

The tasks make the show really and they have been a bit rubbish of late. Also agree it is better when they genuinely want to win!

BumbleBeeWineGlass · 14/06/2019 20:15

For those saying Paul looks unwell - he's announced he's got Parkinson's Sad

Catquest1 · 14/06/2019 20:30

Bumblebee ive just seen that too :(

Spacecadet43 · 10/07/2019 23:02

I've just seen that Jo Brand and David Baddiel are both on Series 9!! Someone obviously read my post WinkGrin Fantastic.
