What's your go-to on the nights where you don't have the energy to do a big meal?

Moderately lazy: something on toast

Truly lazy: crumpets and cheese.

Can’t-get-off-sofa lazy: pizza

Cheesy Peas

Jemima232 · 22/05/2019 15:53

AGnu

So there's actually a recipe for Cheesy Peas?

30not13 · 22/05/2019 15:53

Stuff on toast or in a toastie

drspouse · 22/05/2019 15:54

Pesto pasta
Beans on toast
Tinned soup
Hummus and crackers/breadsticks
They have cooked lunch at school so a snack tea is fine.

afrikat · 22/05/2019 15:54

Mine has a sandwich or toastie most nights as he has a hot school lunch

DHhasahobbyanditsnotcycling · 22/05/2019 15:55

omelette

scrambled eggs on toast

chicken burger if I have the buns

chicken fajitas if I have the stuff in the cupboard

nothing and just put cheese, ham, various salad bits on a plate

ask DH to make a bbq in the summer

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 22/05/2019 15:56

Tuna pasta.

Boil the pasta, add peas at the last so that they boil, drain.
Add a spoonful of mayonnaise and a can of tuna.
Sometimes I'll add in Boursin cheese for extra interest and flavour.
Stir together. Takes no more than 15 minutes all in.

DHhasahobbyanditsnotcycling · 22/05/2019 15:59

forgot the most basic one: pancakes!

HappyRoots · 22/05/2019 16:04

Fish fingers or Quorn nuggets, carrots and peas.

"Easy Peasy Pasta" (what it sounds like and someone else mentioned it above. But started doing that for my then 3 year old as it's in an episode of "Bing" on CBeebies Blush

Scrambled egg on toast

rodentforce · 22/05/2019 16:05

Vegetarian family here ...

Porridge
Frozen pizza
Pasta with sauce from a jar
'Snacky tea' (sandwiches + cereal bars etc)
Take them to the supermarket and let them pick stuff from the shelves and eat as we go round ... they actually love doing this and it means no clearing up afterwards too. Just remember to keep the empty packaging to pay at the end!
I always put a bowl of cut up fruit on the table - helps soothe my conscience if they're at least munching on that.

Nuttyaboutnutella · 22/05/2019 16:05

We've always got tomato sauce in the freezer for DS (with hidden veggies so even better) to throw together with some pasta and garlic bread or bread sticks. Or use it for tortilla pizza with cheese, stick under the grill for a few minutes. I serve it with cucumber etc but these won't get eaten.

Others are beans on toast or cheese on toast. He won't touch eggs or those toddler ready meals and can be quite fussy but these are always eaten.

Fruit and yoghurt for afters and all good :)

CaptainMarvellous · 22/05/2019 16:09

Fish fingers, chips and beans though that would usually require me popping to the shop

Failing that KFC or Wagamamas

justforareply · 22/05/2019 16:10

Frozen fish fillet frozen peas
Potato waffles baked beans fried egg
Egg and bacon sandwiches
Pesto pasta

Chocolateandcarbs · 22/05/2019 16:11

Baked potato and beans, anything from the freezer!

Itwouldtakemuchmorethanthis · 22/05/2019 16:11

Scrambled eggs on toast/muffin/bagel, slices of tomato so it’s “healthy”.

I feel I should share “chocolate fondue”, though. Small bar of choc/Marsbar/Milky Way and a slug of milk/cream in a mug in the microwave, toothpick and fruit/old cake/bread cut up into cubes to dip....

pepperpot99 · 22/05/2019 16:11

Baked beans (reduced sugar n salt, natchHalo) on toast with a couple of eggs scrambled up.

Cariadne · 22/05/2019 16:12

I used to make the kids I nannied for a big sun face out of slices of cheese, apple slices, raisins and toast fingers. They loved it and it was so little work - just a bit of chopping.

HolesinTheSoles · 22/05/2019 16:12

Some combination of Tortillini, fish fingers, chicken goujons, pasta & mixed frozen veg& pesto, cooked chicken, oven pizza, beans.

ElephantsEatEggs · 22/05/2019 16:13

Mine are old enough to "scavenge" as I call it Grin

Cheese on toast - melted
Student cheese on toast - cold sliced cheese next to your hot toast on a plate (no grill, too poor to afford the electric when I was a student Grin)
Pasta with pesto
Chicken tenders from the freezer
Eggs -poached, scrambled, omelette
There are always English muffins, tea cakes, fruit loaves, toastie bread in the freezer as we do a Sunday brunch

I do have an Instant pot so can cook frozen chicken breast in about 1 hour with all the bringing up to temp/cook/release, so easy, requires no watching. Baby potatoes in actifry and some steamed veg.

Depends how adventurous we feel.

GruciusMalfoy · 22/05/2019 16:13

Eggs, French toast, cheese or beans on toast, sausage or bacon sandwiches, pasta and pesto with garlic bread. Along with some veg sticks so I don't feel like a total failure.

ElephantsEatEggs · 22/05/2019 16:14

forgot, cheese and crackers with grapes or apple. Love that.

BarnabasTheMaineCoon · 22/05/2019 16:15

Supernoodles with frozen stir fry veg, made in the microwave. Get a rotisserie chicken, shred some of that in. Voila.

Tortellini with sauce and bagged salad.

Wraps.

Spag hoops with frankfurters chopped in.

Fish finger sandwich.

LonelyTiredandLow · 22/05/2019 16:17

Egg on toast, fish fingers/chips/peas, pizza from freezer or cheesy pasta (cooked pasta with grated cheese on - actually her fave!).
Ultimate lazy is Deliveroo Grin

Crazyladee · 22/05/2019 16:17

Egg Tray Bake

What's that? I mean, I know it's egg but how?
