To think 7 weeks post partum is too early to get my period?

Gave birth April 2nd, this morning it appears I have started af. Blood is dark red not bright - I can't remember if that's normal for a period?

Also no cramps or any other indication of a period now or leading up to now, which is not usual for me.

Has anyone else started af this early after giving birth? I am exclusively breast pumping too so I don't know if that affects fertility like bf does.

I am 14 months post birth and still no sign!

OP it's worth noting here that exclusive pumping, regardless of how often you pump does not provide contraception. It is the let down process when you physically breast feed a baby that provides the contraception.
