To ask for some help from teachers/ex teachers?

Sorry if this would be better posted elsewhere, but I know this forum gets a lot of traffic.

I am currently working as a secondary school teacher and am desperate to get out. I read on one of the forums about ex teachers tutoring online, often to Chinese students in the daytime and am very interested in this. I have googled this myself but would love to know more from anyone doing this. Is there anyone out there who does teaching/tutoring online and could give me some more information? Thank you so much in advance 😊

Hi! I posted a thread about this in the staffroom topic, but got no replies, so I'm jumping on your thread if that's OK?!

I have had a look at Class100 as they advertise on Indeed, but wanted some real life opinions!

Hi! 😊 it would be great for us to get some real life stories, I find myself going round in circles trying to research it online!

I know there are lots of TEFL teachers doing online tutoring, are you also qualified for that? However, it pays only around $25-30 an hour.

I am an English specialist but I could definitely look into getting TEFL qualified. Thank you! 😊

Hi there,
I currently teach online from home full time. I work for Wey education, Interhigh. All teaching is done in an online classroom and resources are stored week by week in the learning platform. Students can complete a variety of tasks from group work, to discussions and quizzes. Work can then be uploaded and marked using a speed grader app that you can dictate your comment to. Class sizes are small, usually between 12-18, max 20. Teaching is 35 weeks, with teachers working an additional 7 weeks, 3 fixed weeks and 4 of their choice to complete planning etc. Working hours are 37.5 per week, about 29 of these are ‘directed’. Meetings and training will, from September take place on Friday afternoon between 2-4pm. It is a private company so no teachers pension, or terms and conditions, but they do have a company pension and healthcare plan. They are currently recruiting for September, it may be worth looking into further. PM me if you would like contact details.
