To worry about third hand smoke exposure as a one off for toddler?

Not the scenario you are all expecting, not staying overnight with relatives etc, but does involve one day/night in a home previously smoked regularly in (tobacco and cannabis)

Has been vacuumed.

This isn't a reverse but I think I am BU for worrying about it as a one off - so please tell me I am and reassure me!

Thanks

It might still smell a bit stale but i can't see how it is going to harm your child.

Ithinkmycatisevil · 20/05/2019 21:00

Yes I think you’re being unreasonable.

I completely get why you are worried and I wouldn't allow it with a baby where sids is a risk still, but if you're thinking cancer wise or lung wise he will be fine.

Blonde87 · 21/05/2019 14:31

Wow 😂

BlackInk · 21/05/2019 14:45

Your child would be exposed to massively more toxins walking along near a road, sitting in a room with a wood fire or in the same garden as a BBQ... and I bet you don't think twice about these things. YABU...

Completely OTT. Back in the 1950s/60s my DF smoked, both in the house and the car and my sister and I are unharmed and still both alive in our 70s, as are millions of others.

The harm from a one time exposure must be infinitesimal.

Ghostontoast · 21/05/2019 15:59

I understand your are more at risk from carcinogens from eating a piece of toast than second-hand smoke.

Kingslayer · 21/05/2019 16:03

Not sure how the vacuuming is relevant... But yes. You are being ridiculous.

AudacityOfHope · 21/05/2019 16:05

It'll be fine. Remain calm.
