To tell him to fook off

My friend on facebook put a photo of a wrong word used in a sentence, she's a bit obsessed with grammar. I replied and the conversation went along these lines.

Me: I'm not normally a knob about these things but even I think that's bad
Friend of friend: It's not being a knob pointing out when someone can't spell or use grammar correctly.
Me: It is been a knob as not everyone can spell or use grammar right.
Friend of friend: It's 'being' not been
Me: oh do fuck off!

I think I was perfectly reasonable as it's facebook not an exam. I don't go round telling people to fuck off normally but this really annoyed me.
My brother said it was banter my mum is quite cross with me.

Yes, why would you write been instead of being? Was it an error?

Delamalama · 20/05/2019 12:11

@nosauce yes it was. I actually had to think which to use, so he hit a nerve when he corrected me.

YABU. The been/being substitution is just annoying.

SignedUpJust4This · 20/05/2019 14:28

Yep that's annoying. It's 'bean' btw

Fiveredbricks · 20/05/2019 16:13

@Delamalama you might want to up your punctuation game, also 🤷

Just sayin'.

Delamalama · 20/05/2019 20:43

@fiver that was my point, I'm shit at grammar! Which is why I hate it when peole have a go at others for it, which i wasn't doing. Maybe I explained it wrong in my first post.
