I'm a shower person, and have been practically all my life. Could probably count on one hand the number of baths I've taken since I was about 8. But lately I've begun wanting to end my day with a good long soak with all the trimmings. Just don't know what to put in the water or burn or listen to Blush.

Could all you lovely Mumsnetters share your favourite bubbles/ oils/ bombs etc for a luxurious, pampering bath? Even like when you want to pull out all the stops, money no object. All suggestions welcome. TIA.

I like lush bath stuff but I know not everyone is a fan. Also ren and jo malone bath oils are good

Andromeida59 · 20/05/2019 09:47

Feather and Down Lavender and Chamomile bath soak. Absolutely incredible and leaves skin feeling amazing. Also a big fan of L'Occitane.

Daffodil2018 · 20/05/2019 09:51

Fancy: Jo Malone grapefruit bath oil or Laura Mercier almond bath milk
Still fancy but cheaper: Neal’s Yard Remedies bath oil
More affordable: Fenjal creme bath

All are lovely. I love baths! I’d take a long hot soak over a quick shower any day. Grin

Try sugar scrub .
Empty the last inch of your shower gel into a plastic container with a good lid.. I use a lock and lock one,. Add loads of white sugar into it mix, and use as a scrub in the bath or shower... Your skin smell nice and is so soft.

L'Occitane all the way for me & DH - I buy the mens range as prefer the scents - shower gel (which I use for the bath if having one) and their bars of soap are great and last ages and smell really nice.
I use the La Mara organic body cream from Aldi after shower / bath
Dd (13) is a big fan of Lush bath bombs

I submitted too soon -
I also like Jo Malone soap and bath oils
And some selective scents from Molton Brown

I have worked in the beauty industry for over 15 years and worked for Elemis for a good majority of that time. I swore by their shower products, body scrubs and moisturisers..the smells are just the best!

Now not working for them (not getting major discount!!) and having children, I wont spend huge amounts of money on products..
one product I couldn't live without is St Ives body scrub! About £2 - £5 a bottle (depending on where you shop) but it's amazing!!
Gets rid of all your dead skin cells, leaves your skin so smooth! I can't rate this enough!
What's the point in paying ridiculous amounts of money for products, when cheaper ones do a better job!

Bubbles: I don't find much difference between using posh ones or standard radox and imperial leather ones tbh, my fave one atm is by Imperial Leather, 'Relaxing Orchid and Ylang Ylang', usually on offer for £1. Rather save my money for scrubs and moisturisers that I can tell the difference with.

Oils: I don't use as don't like how they make my skin feel.

Bombs: tried ones from lush and body shop but didn't rate them and don't use them, much prefer bubble baths.

Candles: Either yankee candle, or sanctuary spa one, but home bargains do a really nice knock off of yankee candles that are like 59p for a little candle, £3 for a big one. Primark also do some nice mini jar ones for £1, bit hit and miss with the scents.

Music: random spotify playlists, film soundtracks, or I set my laptop up (obviously not in the actual bath!) and watch something. Usually just read my kindle.

Also love the hot sugar scrub by Sanctuary, it goes so warm on your skin! And their wet skin moisture miracle.

Perlier honey bubble bath. Really lovely. Been around for ages but the smell is still perfect - like real honey.

viques · 21/05/2019 22:08

Floris bath essence. Amazing stuff, a few drops in the bath perfumes not only the bath water and your skin, but the bathroom, the landing, the stairs......

Costs a lot but lasts for ages. Comes in lots of scents, they are all amazing, I am currently luxuriating in Edwardian Bouquet.

( handy hint, you can sometimes buy it on eBay)

TwattingDog · 21/05/2019 22:17

Bubbles make me itch and never last anyway.

I love oils. Anything by Clarins.

Otherwise bath salts are your cheapest option. A big bag of Epsom Salts can be bought from Poundland (yes, £1) and are very soothing for sore muscles.

I love baths, but they are never deep enough to cover all body parts so something always gets cold...! 😂 And I always need a shower afterwards to rinse the bath salt residue off and wash my hair.

sansou · 21/05/2019 22:26

My absolute favourite is Jo Malone's Lime Basil & Mandarin Bath Oil - a little goes a long way.

2nd place goes to L'Occitane's Lavender Foaming Bath.

Always on my Birthday/Christmas list although the trouble is, once you get used to them, no dupes can compare.

Tillygetsit · 21/05/2019 22:40

I have super sensitive skin and the only thing that doesnt irritate it is Dove. I have every product they do. Smells fresh and my skin loves it. I take a book, a coffee and wallow for ages.

alcoholyoulater · 21/05/2019 23:01

Magnesium salts to relax muscles and achey joints and help you sleep 👍
