Random episodes where I vomit once and am then fine.

Posting here for traffic...
I am a 19 year old female and I keep experiencing episodes where I get quite lightheaded, feel faint and then projectile vomit. The vomiting can happen with so much force that I burst the blood vessels around my eyes.
This has been going on for over a year now, the lightheadness and feeling faint doesn't always coincide with the vomiting.
For example, it has happened both yesterday and today, the vomiting isn't uncontrollable, usually I bring it on or the nausea stays until I'm sick.
I experience quite a lot of wind in my throat after being sick.
What could it be? Or has anyone experienced anything similar?

My ds has suffered with similar in the past and he was diagnosed with constipation. A week on movicol starting when he first says he feels sick seems to sort it out. Might that be possible? What has your doctor said?

I'm presuming that during the year you have sought medical advice on this. Or no?

I was like that in early months of pregnancy.

Hi OP I honestly think you need a trip to the GP, but if it’s any reassurance atall, I suffer with migraines where sometimes I am physically sick and I also get horrendous indigestion at the same time. As my stomach gets sorted, so the migraine lifts.
Are you stressed? Or has it just started for no reason?
I’m sure you’ll feel better for a trip to the docs x

It could be a hiatus hernia, where some of the stomach goes into the chest cavity.

They are often tricky to diagnose. Cause projectile vomiting and heartburn.

Obvs be guided by your GP though.

Thanks for everyone's replies so far. Yes I have been to the doctors a few times with this issue but they don't take me seriously as I have been diagnosed with anxiety and they just put it down to that without any further investigations. However, I get the episodes even when I'm not anxious.
