Recently got back into running and I’m a bit bored with my playlist, please tell me your favourite music to run to.

OP posts:

The FInale of the Wiliam Tell Overture (it's on Spotify). It's on my running playlist and has a habit of coming on when I'm tiring and always perks me up (the temptation to pretend you're a horse is good to so long as it is dark and nobody about!)

Zippy, great list just got The Man and Helena ( also 'mama' as a mother of boys ) and more Linkin Park.
Anymore rock songs?
I can't stand the hip hop or rap stuff.

I quite like running to classical music - things like Handel's Arrival of the Queen of Sheba, Elgar's Pomp and Circumstance (Land of Hope and Glory), Mozart Overture to Marriage of Figaro - they're all quite lively and have a feeling of moving forwards.

Scott Joplin is fun too.

I don't run, but 'Velouria' by the Pixies would be top of my list if I did!
That and 'Running up that Hill' by Kate Bush.

I'm another who listens to audiobooks and podcasts :)

CollaterlieSistersSister · 19/05/2019 18:22

For those exploring podcasts, ‘Running Commentary’ is great.

Two comedians chatting whilst running, so listening to them whilst you’re similarly breathing a tad heavy really works (for me, anyhow).

I don't run but these work well for the rhythm of the cross trainer so might be some inspiration:

Survivor - Eye of the Tiger
Lady Gaga - The Edge of Glory
Puff Daddy - I'll Be Missing You (slow track but the pace of it really works)
Jakatta - American Dream
Huey Lewis and the News - Hip to be Square
Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars - Uptown Funk
Ian Carey and Rosette - Amnesia
Tommy Shaw - Girls With Guns
Village People - YMCA
Mish Mash - Speechless
The Bee Gees - Tragedy
