AIBU to not go to doctors....

Back in February I noticed a small red mark on my neck, I thought nothing of it and have just left it, today I was rubbing my neck as I slept funny last night when I noticed it felt larger. I’m not one to go to the drs unless it’s abs9lutley necessary, I’ve taken a picture (just about) and I showed DP who says I should go to the drs. I don’t see why, it itches maybe once a day and doesn’t cause me any grief. It actually feels like a burn. I don’t wanna go to the drs for a mark that isn’t giving me any issues.
Aibu.... also anyone have any idea what it could be. I really have no clue...

Go to the GP. If it is getting bigger it could be an infection. Better safe than sorry.

CaptainCabinets · 17/05/2019 14:13

So what’s the point in posting here unless you just want someone to give you permission to see a doctor? Hmm

IKnowYouAndYouCannotSing · 17/05/2019 14:14

Could be atypical eczema. Me and my daughter both have eczema that presents like that. You should see a doctor though because if it’s eczema you need cream and my Dad had skin cancer that started off looking like psoriasis so I don’t take any chances.

Bambamber · 17/05/2019 14:15

Would you at least go to a pharmacist? If I had skin changes that weren't resolving over months I would certainly want to get it checked out

Gigglinghysterically · 17/05/2019 14:16

Ringworm? Urticaria? Hives?

PseudoQuim · 17/05/2019 14:19

Urticaria and hives are the same thing Hmm

Hadenoughofitall441 · 17/05/2019 14:23

I get eczema behind my ears and on my legs but it’s never like this, more like heat rash.... that’s what stumped me... I just hate going to drs unless I have to, even when dealing with my life condition I talk on the phone usually. I’m just not one of those people that goes to dr with every single problem.

OP I understand because I HATE going to the Drs myself, and would always seek reassurance before I did Blush
BUT you do appear to be concerned by this, so please do just give them a call, examine the situation, ask them if you should come in, and book in if/when they advise you to. The Dr will have a look and go from there.
I hope it all works out for you Smile

PinkBuffalo · 17/05/2019 14:32

explain the situation not examine!

DontCallMeShitley · 17/05/2019 14:33

Maybe something you use, perfume, soap, laundry products. If you don't want to see a GP, you need to stop using anything with allergens for a while, or anything you use that has been 'improved' recently.

If you aren't sure what to look for, often it is the 'natural' perfumes in products, linalool, limonene, geraniol and other things. These are also added to face creams and other cosmetic stuff.

I'm not one to go to the doctors either, but if that's been around for three months, I think you need to see someone.

Get yourself to a pharmacist, they'll be able to either help, or tell you if you need to go to the docs.

cantfindname · 17/05/2019 14:48

That is not a small red mark!! It is a flipping big red mark. Get to a pharmacist and don't be surprised when they send you to see GP!

Welcome1234 · 20/06/2019 10:47

if it is eczema, then i wouldnt use steroid creams on it. my son had bad eczema and now we are finally seeing improvements after stopping all chemical creams and going with natural healing from within. you can see the video , where we share our journey of battling with eczema and 10 tips to get it under control

Aquamarine1029 · 20/06/2019 11:00

You are being utterly ridiculous. Whatever that is is massive and is clearly not going away. You need to see the gp. Stop being so foolish.

SunniDay · 20/06/2019 11:03

Hi OP, you mention a life condition? Looks like a rash you can get with Limes disease?

HolesinTheSoles · 20/06/2019 11:05

You need to just see the doctor. What is your objection to going?

SunniDay · 20/06/2019 11:06

Sorry spelling * Lyme

PregnantSea · 20/06/2019 11:14

Stop being so bloody silly and go to the doctor. Feel free to repeatedly tell the GP that you're not one of these people who goes to the doctor for every little thing, whilst they are examining you.

AuntMarch · 20/06/2019 11:18

I’m just not one of those people that goes to dr with every single problem.

Good for you. But this isn't every single problem. It's either concerning you (which I assume it is as you've posted this!) so you should pop to a pharmacist for advice or see the GP, or it isn't. In which case do nothing.

Cryalot2 · 20/06/2019 11:18

Hi op I think you need some advice. If you don't feel able to go to your gp then speak to your pharmacist . They are good and can advise if you need to be seen by a Dr.
