I’ve googled and experimented until I’m ‘blue’ in the face....but the damned blueberries always sink to the bottom of my cakes.... does anyone actually and truthfully know a foolproof way to avoid this...PLEASE?!

Have you tossed them in flour first ?

Have you tried using a Madeira cake recipe? The standard Victoria sponge recipe may not be dense enough to support them. You may need the greater density created by the greater proportion of flour that is in a Madeira cake.

Toss them in flour, or cake mix if you're using a box mix.

Toss in flour or cornflour first.
Chill the batter then mix in (once coated in flour)

Toss in flour first.

I always do the flour thing but it’s hit and miss for me. I think it depends on the mood of the oven. My husband thinks it is deliberate and recently asked me how I’d got all the cherries in one layer. It’s too late to explain gravity to him. Poor man.
