AIBU to ask how much coffee you drink in a day?

I have one. Every morning, first thing. A Nespresso costa cappucino. I was spending £2.50 a day but switched to a machine and it's nearly as good. If I don't think too hard about it

Anyway - that's all I'll have. Never have a second coffee.

What about you?

I don't drink tea or coffee , dh however drinks gallons of the stuff.

Sup3rCooper · 16/05/2019 10:23

@Gigglinghysterically this is my concern. It's one I make at home and it's barely a cup full - I just use a pod for the milk and then a pod that houses the coffee. Is it really two shots?

I sometimes feel a bit .. weird after it. Kind of headache-y but it's not really a headache. Bit nauseous but again, mild.

I may switch to decaf even though I've told myself one coffee a day is nothing

One mug from a cafetiere each mid morning when working from home, and variable when at work.

notacooldad · 16/05/2019 10:26

Too much is the short answer.
The longer answer is probably two or three at a weekend if I'm not at work.

However Monday to Friday there is a lot of staff about and everyone offers. To make a brew for everyone. I worked out I was given 11 cups of coffee yesterday. I have to say I didn't drink them all! Same with the chocolate bars that come with the coffee. I have had to put them back in the cupboard at work otherwise I wouldn't be able to move.

anitagreen · 16/05/2019 10:27

I drink maybe one or two a day but tea I have around 9 cups of tea a day i don't drink fizzy, juice or water mainly tea or coffee which is awful I've tried decaf tea bags but they taste so weird

TrendyNorthLondonTeen · 16/05/2019 10:28

None. Hate the stuff. Same with tea!

NearlySchoolTimeAgain · 16/05/2019 10:28

I’ve cut down from 10+ (Large cups of instant plus 1-3 Italian coffee shop lattes).

I’m now on about 4. Because of the milk carbs not the caffeine. I’m just easing out of the caffeine headaches though. Was drinking coffee in bed at bedtime and in bed before getting up (DH Brew).

Sup3rCooper · 16/05/2019 10:28

I actually have a tassimo machine and not a nespresso. Christ how did I not know this?

Anyway, a T disc of costa coffee contains 135mg of caffeine I think. So is this a lot? Wouldn't have a clue

Probably about 2 to 3 cups. But I'll also have a few cups of tea. It depends how long I'm home for though. If I'm home longer I drink more.

XXVaginaAndAUterus · 16/05/2019 10:38

If I'm at home, one first thing.

If I'm at work 2-3 cups/day.

Ninkaninus · 16/05/2019 10:40

Two cups, first thing in the morning. If I have any more I don’t sleep at all.

After dinners out I have a coffee with amaretto as my pudding.

DinkyTie · 16/05/2019 11:27

4 or 5 but I'm going to try to cut down.

Although I can't find any real evidence of it being that bad for you?

BrightOink · 16/05/2019 11:36

2 caffeinated lattes in the morning 7am and then 9ish

Decaf coffee around 3/4

Tea / squash / water / Diet Coke / peppermint tea in between

Krazykitty · 16/05/2019 11:50

I have 1 instant when I get up.
11 ish a coffee shop cappuccino (2 shots) then maybe I’ll have 1 instant around 4 ish.

I love the effect caffeine has on me, gives me energy & makes me feel a bit happier if I’m feeling low.

In my cappuccino I have coconut milk, it’s a lot less calories and I also prefer it as it’s quite sweet Blush

kaytee87 · 16/05/2019 11:50

None. I have 2 or 3 cups of tea though.

Strugglingtodomybest · 16/05/2019 11:52

None, but I do drink gallons of tea.

outvoid · 16/05/2019 11:53

Some days far too much, it depends on how much sleep I had the night before. I can have up to six cups a day on a bad day, normal day is usually around 3-4.

Ninkaninus · 16/05/2019 11:54

I drink at least 6 cups of tea a day, plus decaf/herbal in the evening.

DieSchottin93 · 16/05/2019 11:56

If I drank as much coffee as some people on this thread I imagine I'd be doing nothing but peeing all day Shock Shock I already have the bladder capacity of a golf ball

Despite working as a barista I hate the stuff Grin

Deadringer · 16/05/2019 11:57

1 or 2 but I don't like it very strong. I prefer tea and have about 4 cups a day.

Ninkaninus · 16/05/2019 11:57

I drink at least 4 cups of water a day too, on top of the two cups of coffee and at least 8 cups of tea. I pee a lot.

cuppycakey · 16/05/2019 11:58

None. Used to drink it but went completely off it in first pregnancy and never touched the stuff since.

PinkHeartLovesCake · 16/05/2019 11:59

4 cups when I first get up.

I make it so strong the first sip even has my eyes wide open so after the 4th cup I am like the Duracell bunny in the tv ads but I’ve got 3 toddlers so need that energy

Teddybear45 · 16/05/2019 12:00

Before I got pregnant I usually had the equivalent of 4 or 5 shots of espresso. The only reason why I was able to stop cold turkey during pregnancy was because I developed an aversion to bitter tastes.

GirlRaisedInTheSouth · 16/05/2019 12:00

Although I can't find any real evidence of it being that bad for you?

Actually, coffee is good for you. It’s especially good for your liver.
