To ask if this looks like chicken pox?

My toddler got this arm blister on Tuesday morning. Has since got one on leg aswell but very small. I will attach both pics.

The only other signs are a regular looking spot on cheek with no head or blister, and a tiny regular spot in nappy.
No temp
Not ill

Was around chicken pox 14 days ago, briefly! Not sure if it can all still break out with it being 48 hours since first spot, or if it’s a mild case (if so will he Be immune?)

Or if it’s not chicken pox at all?

Help!

My sons started like that exactly 14 days after he was exposed to chicken pox. It’s started with one small water filled blister for a few days and then it broke out properly.

MadamHattie · 16/05/2019 09:37

Looks like it to me. My ds started out like this, 3 days later he was smothered!

Ihatehashtags · 16/05/2019 09:43

Possibly or hand foot and mouth

WonderTweek · 16/05/2019 10:30

Looks like chickenpox or possibly hand, foot and mouth. My son had spots like that last year and had what we thought was a mild case of chickenpox. He was really well with it which was surprising. Then six months later he had a really bad bout of chickenpox, and we're still not sure if his first illness was really mild chickenpox or HFMD. Hmm But those spots look exactly like the ones my son had.

Looks like chicken pox to me. My DC started with this. No temp or feeling unwell for the first day, only a couple of spots and then turned to 4 or 5. We thought we'd got off lightly. The next day he felt awful, temp, loads of the little blighters popping up. Day 3 we were in hospital because his throat was all infected with them inside. I hope you have an easier time of it if it is the pox. Incidently poxcilin from boots is amazing for the discomfort if it is.

Thanks for the replies.
One more hasn’t come up on leg that looks typical chicken pox.
He has none is his hands feet or mouth and no temp. Eating fine etc.
I thought two days later they would all be out if it wasn’t chicken pox. Just wish it would hurry up if that’s what it is and I would know either way!

Yep my daughter had these and it was chicken pox but mild I'd say she only had about 20 spots over her whole body. Hoping she doesn't get it again one day. She didn't suffer with it once the spots came out but the pre spots symptoms were not nice temperature etc..

chickensdontpocktheypeck · 16/05/2019 10:55

This is the new one I said

Definitely looks like chicken pox to me.

Tunnocks34 · 16/05/2019 12:14

Yes. My two year old only had two like that for nearly 4 days, on the 5th day he came out with around 15 more.

He only had a very mild form of it! Poxclin moose, calpol and piratin every 4/6 hours we did. X

Huntlybyelection · 16/05/2019 12:19

Yes.

My daughter had chicken pox. Started with one spot on her waist. No others. It disappeared. She seemed happy enough and no temperature.

5 days later she woke up on Christmas flipping morning with another spot on her back. By mid morning she had maybe half a dozen spots. By boxing day she was covered and neither of us managed to really sleep until the 2nd of January. She was cranky and had a high temperature and generally uncomfortable until maybe the 30th December.

The things that helped were: poxclir mousse, paracetamol (do not give them ibuprofen) and baths with a wee bag of oats in as the pay milk soothes the skin.

babysharkah · 16/05/2019 12:20

My daughters had a very mild case at 3, about 5 spots. They then had it horrendously at age 7. It was awful.

Tumblefluff · 16/05/2019 12:33

Definitely chicken pox. Both mine has a single blister for a couple of days before the proverbial SHTF.

LoafofSellotape · 16/05/2019 12:35

Yes,looks like chicken pox , doesn't look like HFM to me.

roses2 · 16/05/2019 12:38

When DS1 had chicken pox, he had a medium number of spots for 5 days but no fever.

When DS2 had chicken pox, he had lots of spots for 3 days and a fever.

Both were off school/nursery for one week.

chickensdontpocktheypeck · 16/05/2019 12:45

Thank you all. So maybe not over the worst yet .
Damn. Can’t stop checking
