longwayoff · 17/05/2019 06:48

No war films
No disaster films
No gnomes, trolls and other magical guff
No - double yawn - films with giant menacing animals, Jaws, Godzilla, etc.
No Star Wars and other space stuff
No James Bond
No superheroes
I live across the road from an Everyman cinema. Totally wasted on me.

UterusUterusGhali · 17/05/2019 07:24

I hadn't seen Notting Hill until last year. Almost everyone on here and IRL had said it's amazing and I simply must.

Utter. Shite.

I was quite angry at how shite it was.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 17/05/2019 08:02

I haven’t seen it but worked there. The number of tourists who (still) ask where ‘the door’ is is staggering. They are also shocked when I say ‘I have no idea - I haven’t seen the film - it’s probably in a studio somewhere.’ I think a local bookshop was in the film so I point them there.

BikeRunSki · 17/05/2019 08:06

Hunger Games
Reservoir Dogs
The second 2 LOTR
Marvel anything

Until last year I hadn’t seen Dirty Dancing or Top Gun. I have been in the room where the original Star Wars films were playing, but wasn’t concentrating. I haven’t seen any of the second generation Star Wars movies.

BikeRunSki · 17/05/2019 08:08

Lion King
Star Trek
Most Disney post 1985ish (but plenty of Pixar).

Ragwort · 17/05/2019 08:12

Star Wars
LOTR
Marvel/Superman/comic type films
Harry Potter
Hate watching children’s Disney type films, have seen on the rare occasion if taking a child, usually fall asleep Grin
Romcom type films

longwayoff · 17/05/2019 08:16

Uterus, yes, you are so right. Utter tripe.

JustAnotherMillennial · 17/05/2019 08:18

I flatted with a guy years ago who cried watching Notting Hill Grin

Grease
The Notebook
Thor etc
Love Actually
La La Land
Any James Bond other than Spectre (only watched that under duress)

I only saw the first of the Twilight films, when I was a teenager, no inclination to see the second, much to the dismay of my friends.

longwayoff · 17/05/2019 08:18

Add to list all Richard Curtis films, apart from Notting Hill, which was forced on me.

Mrsjayy · 17/05/2019 08:21

Notting hill is rubbish I don't know why Julia Roberts was seen as agood actress she isn't.

user1471590586 · 17/05/2019 09:20

The 2nd and 3rd parts to the Lord of the Rings. Found the first film boring.
The Godfather
The Lion King

StoatofDisarray · 17/05/2019 09:23

Hunger Games or any YA films (Twilight, etc.)
Lost Boys
Highlander
Titanic
