To feel so happy DP is away tonight?

This isn’t even lighthearted.
We really aren’t getting on at the moment. He’s at a social event tonight & is staying at friends.
The utter relief when he left is indescribable. I really just want to change the locks (I won’t).
I just never imagined being nearly 50 & so unhappy.
We’ve been together 3 years. I was married for 24 years before that.
Tonight I feel I can just breathe for once. I’ve already booked myself 12 hours of work tomorrow so I don’t have to see him tomorrow at all 😦

Definitely end it.I felt like this consistently towards the end of my marriage.

Aquamarine1029 · 15/05/2019 18:04

If I were you, I would use this time alone to make whatever plans you need to. Call your friends, start packing, and get the hell out of there.

Erignon · 15/05/2019 18:05

Ugh. You can do better, and you deserve better than that.

Different reasons, but my exDh used to go out every Monday evening to a class. I LOVED it. I looked forward to Mondays to much. So glad he's out of my life now.

Get gone OP

NCforthis2019 · 15/05/2019 18:07

Good grief - just gin him and go stay with friends!

Singlenotsingle · 15/05/2019 18:08

At least he's a DP and not a DH! Just end it now. You're not getting anything out of it.

StealthPolarBear · 15/05/2019 18:12

Op don't waste the rest of your life on this loser. Did you say he belittles your job?! And if that wasn't bad enough on its own, he's unenployed

SundaeMorning · 15/05/2019 18:21

I feel that leaving him tonight is too hasty. I think biding your time and planning your departure carefully is a better strategy.
I hope you get this sorted Flowers x

BesselVanDerKolk · 15/05/2019 18:21

Jesus Christ, just bin the cocklodging, controlling wanker!

Charley34 · 15/05/2019 18:22

This ^^

IamtheDevilsAvocado · 15/05/2019 18:29

Please plot your exit......

He may well object and try and be 'good'for a few days....but the question is ....why isn't he valuing you and your life now??

IamtheDevilsAvocado · 15/05/2019 18:30

Just imagine how you will feel an hour/day/week/month/3 months after you ditch him

MrsElizabethShelby · 15/05/2019 18:35

Gosh OP, bin him off. Your old enough to know better.

Start making plans tonight, get on Rightmove and look for places.

If he isn't on the lease you can chuck him out
