We was on our way to the park OH grabbed the dog lead of DS 2 as we was crossing the road. OH gave the lead back to DS as we walking up the busy road and I'm saying to OH stop let me get the lead of DS because I'm getting anxiety watching him walking the dog so close to the busy road stop stop can you just stop because I don't want him to get run over. He's ignoring me and carries on walking and says Prince isn't stupid enough to walk in the road.

I knew what was going to happen DS drops the lead dog starts freaking out in the road lorry has to slam his breaks on I let go of the pushchair and I'm trying to get my dog out the road I'm now shaken up and in tears.

OH keeps saying you care more about "your stupid dog than you do about your daughter" but it was my first reaction to save my dog so I let go of the pushchair.

I'm so shaken up I had to walk back home!

My sister once let go of her pushchair as a knee jerk reaction to try and get hold of a piece of paper she was carrying that got caught in the wind. She then stood on the side of the pavement bumping her hand against her forehead saying “what a f*cking idiot I nearly put my daughter at risk for a piece of paper”.

Youre understandably shaken. The main thing is, everyone is ok and it is a lesson learned.

Toddlers in charge of dogs = risky.

You both made mistakes. Nobody died but they could have done, it is a humbling and shocking experience for you both.

To add to what a PP said, forgive each other, learn from it and move on.
