Just put my 3 yr old in the bath he has what looks like the beggining of a petechial (none blanching) rash ... He is perfectly well in himself ... Do I ring 111 or watch and wait ? I have anxiety and don't want to come across as neurotic but you hear so many stories?

A week ago my Ds (12) had that .... 111 called ambulance , and we ended up in A&E .... he had had vomiting bug that caused it ....but they said you HAVE to seek immediate medical attention if you get this ... exact words -“ this is exactly the rash we need to see in hospital”. We have an amazing children’s hospital who did bloods abd thankfully he had a virus abd the vomiting had caused the rash ... all v odd .... but you have to get that looked at ASAP ... I wouldn’t be waiting 2 hours I’d be on my way to A&E with that

Google ITP. My eldest had several bouts. Was scary before it was diagnosed. Caused by an auto immune response to destroying platelets.

How are things going OP?

Hi guys sorry for the late update ... they kept us in over night ran lots of tests and all came back clear ... Grin we were discharged this afternoon. DS is absolutely fine thanks so much for all the replies and well wishes. The doc said it was exactly the same as the sort of rash that would be seen in meningitis so i don't feel like a neurotic mum x
