Aibu to be ticked off at all he numbers of threads that MN delete for really flimsy reasons?

I have no idea why they don't lock the thread instead in many cases as there has been some interesting advice offered on many of these wiped discussions.

I understand if the mainstream media gets hold of a story the OP may want to get the thread pulled but there's a number of very useful discussions that just vanish and all of the advice is gone too.

Aibu?

It depends what you consider ‘flimsy reasons’? Can you give an example?

Some of the most interesting threads are pulled because of trolling and I think that's a shame.

They can also be the most amusing, so worth keeping from that standpoint alone.

@DoneLikeAKipper - well I can only go by what MN puts as the reason so like a thread gets pulled as MN don't want to make someone's life difficult or they're checking it out so while they do that, they pull it but don't come back to say it was a pbp for example. Just lick the thread and only pull the ones that really need to go.

Well ‘looking behind the scenes’ usually (not always) mean it’s a troll or gf, and there’s no good reason to keep those threads up. I think posters who get their threads pulled because they don’t like the answers their getting are irritating, but I find that’s not the most usual case of thread deletion. Mostly threads get pulled for the right reasons in my opinion, it’s a bit shitbif people have put in good advice, but it’s just the internet at the end of the day.
