To be sad that I may not pick up and carry my child again?

I'm pregnant and can't pick up my 3 year old (he's tall, so more like a 5 year old). Silly, hormonal me is worried that by the time the baby is here and I'm healed from a c-section, my first-born will be too big/old to be picked up. Does anyone else still carry their children after 3?

my 11 year old injured her knee/annkle and could not weight bare on it.

By the time they are 11 and 37 kilos you will be bloody glad that you do not have to pick them up and carry them like a sack of spuds over your shoulder up two flights of stairs.

still pick up my ten year old and carry him as well.

One day your parents put you down and they never picked you up again ☹️

I picked up my 7 year old for a cuddle today and he said “you haven’t picked me up like this for ages” Sad Sad
I also carried him home from school on my back because he was tired...

Why do you need to pick him up at 4? You can cuddle him on the couch. Honestly if this is what you are worrying about you are leading a pretty charmed life.

16yr old ds is well over 6ft and could probably pick me up ( even though I'm heavy as hell ) but his affectionate gesture is to pat me on the head Grin like I'm a pet....

Dd is 8 and I can't pick her up as have back problems though her dad can. She occasionally gets carried up the stairs.

Don't worry op!

My 9yo is too big for me to carry! I can if she jumps from the sofa on to me and I can hold her but we can't move far. She can just about pick me up.

I can still carry my 10yr old. And pick up and do a few steps with my 12yr old.
