WIBU to go on kids rides whilst pregnant?

We live near to a theme park and have annual passes which were not cheap. I take our toddler daughter there most weeks and we go on the toddler rides, play areas and look at the animals. Some of the rides say "not advised for pregnant women" - WIBU to go on them when pregnant?

To be clear I'm not talking about full on roller coasters but toddler rides like ferris wheel type rides or boats that go round and round.

I don't see how these can be any more dangerous than riding a bike or car- both fine during pregnancy. Are they just covering their backs or is there some underlying reason which isn't obvious?

They just say it to prevent Litigation.

Make your own evaluation. I would.

They are not advised but people don't always follow the rules!

God forbid if anything happened to your baby, you would probably think it was due to going on these rides.

Personally I wouldn't.

I think toddler rides would be fine.

We recently went to Alton Towers and rides within CBeebies Land are so slow you could walk quicker

Babies at that stage are ridiculously well protected. If you are happy going on then do. I would.

There are so many things you could do that might but are highly unlikely to have an impact on the baby in the early stages you'd never leave the house if you took a 'just in case' approach (and even then you might have stairs or a kid that jumps on your tummy etc)....

If I went on a slow moving roundabout while pregnant and something happened my baby I would NOT think it was due to a ride. You hit bumps in a car harder on a daily basis. Please don’t stop thinking for yourself just because there’s an internet to tell you what to do in every situation.

I did similar rides when pregnant - things like a tractor and trailer ride, a little round rocket ride etc. No one ever stopped me for being pregnant ( I had planned to just look outraged and tell them I’m just fat if anyone queried it).

My DM forgot she was pregnant with my DSis and went on the waltzers. Confused
Luckily everything was fine but I really wouldn't recommend it. It's a risk like everything in life but is it a calculated risk you're happy to take?

BrainScience · 10/05/2019 07:12

mayde if something had happened whilst I was pregnant I would never have linked that with going on a kids ride.

I went to Disneyland Paris earlier in this pregnancy (I was around 4.5 months) and went on rides it said not to as the list of rides I was allowed on was so restrictive! We took our 3 year old so they were all rides suitable for him, i.e. Pirates of the Carribbean, the Dumbo ride etc. Nothing fast or jolty, and nothing that had a lap bar.
I'd say you're fine.
