If all the people who stocked up for Brexit are actually eating all that cans and dried goods or are they keeping it for future just in case?
All the threads about Brexit stocking up sounded very.... Lentily... And by now I would be fed up of lentils tbh.

I am sure they're keeping them. The things on the lists are designed to last...and there may still be a need for them in the future.

InspectorClouseauMNdivision · 09/05/2019 08:54

They are made to last, but gosh. Some people were filling up even bedroom wardrobes with it. So I assume some must be eating it to get the usable space back?

Started on the Brexit chocolate stash last night, it was in the loft and it will be too warm in summer. Other than that we've been rotating from emergency supply to cupboards as we use things. Lentils rule Grin

The best placard I saw at the no Brexit march last month was "I'm stockpiling herbs in case of a no Dill Brexit".

IAmTheChosenOne · 09/05/2019 15:00

I have Brexit toilet rolls. I will not be wiping my pert derriere on leaves or sphagnum moss.

Bringbackthestripes · 09/05/2019 15:35

My wardrobe is FULL of toilet rolls Grin DH refused to let me buy more when we went shopping today.

CupOhTea · 09/05/2019 15:38

I think there's a method to it as some people are just preppers, regardless of Brexit. So, I think they eat the food if it's about to go off and then replace it.

I think having a little supply of essentials is a good plan for all sorts of reasons.

I don't know anyone who (will admit to having) stockpiled a wardrobe's worth just got Brexit.

Furrydogmum · 09/05/2019 18:47

My dh is not impressed with our walk in wardrobe full of loo rolls and kitchen rolls. I've also filled a cupboard in the garage with essential tins and packets which I'm rotating as I would if it were indoors.. All stuff I use regularly so not wasted either way.

Queenfreak · 09/05/2019 18:51

I have a months worth of none perishables that we regularly use anyhow. Not cupboards and boxes full of stuff.
I just make sure I rotate, and replace.

ZippyBungleandGeorge · 09/05/2019 18:53

My gran has a stockpile in the garage, when we discovered it my uncle asked her if it was the same stockpile she had for the 'millennium big', she bought an extra chest freezer for that!!

We love our Brexit cupboard. No lentils though. Every so often we have a "Brexit meal" that needs to involve as much as possible from the cupboard. DS12 started eating the chocolate supplies on the 29th March.

MissSueFlay · 09/05/2019 19:15

Mine is just sitting in boxes in the shed. It's just tins, bottles of olive oil, tomato purée etc so it will last for ages. If Brexit goes smoothly we'll start eating it, if it doesn't go smoothly I might sell some of it Grin

BachAtTheMoon · 09/05/2019 19:35

We have renamed our Brexit cupboard the Apocalypse cupboard. Either event is likely...

PinkOboe · 09/05/2019 19:40

All the staff we stockpiled for Brexit are languishing downstairs twiddling their thumbs. What a fucking tragic waste of taxpayers money that is

LittleLongDog · 09/05/2019 19:45

Is it a lot of pasta in sauce post-Brexit?

Or do you have to have things you can eat without cooking?

frazzledmumoftwo · 09/05/2019 21:03

Anyone fancy some chocolate chip cookies and Devonshire custard?
