I love coleslaw. I adore cheese.

I just tried coleslaw with crumbled feta mixed in. Dash of freshly ground pepper on top.

Mind and tastebuds blown.

I had it with quiche. I realise how naice and middle class that all sounds but I don't care.

Chips, Cheese and coleslaw sandwiches are lovely.

Feta or goats cheese crumbled on top of sardines on toast is amazing.

Bbang · 08/05/2019 20:21

I mix grated cheese, grated apple and whole grain mustard then slap it on some sourdough toast and stick it under the grill. DELICIOUS 😋

huggybear · 08/05/2019 20:24

I'm laughing at quiche and coleslaw being described as 'naice'

Pharlapwasthebest · 08/05/2019 20:45

I had sourdough toast with cream cheese, smoked salmon, cucumber and spring onion at the weekend. I was dubious, but it was delicious.

thyroidblood · 08/05/2019 21:07

Isn't it just cheese savoury then ?

WokenUp · 08/05/2019 21:44

I read this thread and just had to dash out to get a white cabbage and make some coleslaw 😋😋😋

SansasSnatch · 08/05/2019 21:47

Peanut butter and cheese sarnies

stucknoue · 08/05/2019 22:08

Which reminds me, I think I left the coleslaw on the table! I do prefer homemade but shop bought is so convenient

Toooldtobearsed2 · 08/05/2019 22:14

@BasilTheGreat low carb coleslaw????? I DEMAND the recipe.

Pretty please😁

MandalaYogaTapestry · 08/05/2019 22:21

I think coleslaw is low carb by nature, no? Cabbage, carrot, mayo, mustard.

EmployeeOfTheMonth2019 · 08/05/2019 22:34

Sounds nice! Thanks for the tip, OP!

MitziK · 08/05/2019 22:46

DP's contribution to this is -

Wholemeal toast
Crunchy Peanut Butter
Tinned spaghetti hoops.

Much to my shock/horror/amazement, it actually works.

BasilTheGreat · 09/05/2019 09:19

@Toooldtobearsed2
It's just a simplified version of coleslaw Grin
I add cabbage, Heinz full fat Mayo to taste. salt and sweetener of choice. Mix together. You could eat it like this or spice it up with grated cheddar, bacon, feta cheese, tomatoes etc. It's yummy on it's on as well as a side to chicken.

Toooldtobearsed2 · 09/05/2019 09:26

@BasilTheGreat thank you 😁

Think chedder and bacon is a must.....

TurboTeddy · 09/05/2019 09:58

Two slices of wholemeal toast, crunchy peanut butter on one, apricot jam on the other, sliced banana in the middle. Shouldn't work but it does. Have tried other jams but it's not the same!

BettySwollocksandaCrustyRack · 09/05/2019 10:07

A sour cherry haribo sweet mixed with a giant chocolate button.....tis like angels tap dancing on the tongue :)

RighteousSista · 09/05/2019 10:18

Avocado & chocolate milkshake - tried it in Bali may years ago well before the avocado craze! Nomnom

sundowners · 09/05/2019 11:52

1 of the yummiest ciabatta toppings of all times- cheesey coleslaw mixed with hummus- seriously try it (bit naughty I know).

BendyLikeBeckham · 17/05/2019 01:34

I am just coming back to the thread to see so many new suggestions! Wow!

@TheBlessedCheesemaker loving your username! I love cheese and beetroot together. Not tried it with coleslaw too but sounds like a winning combo.

@MuddyMoose rice and cranberry wensleydale? I don't eat rice, so will take your word for that. The fruity cheese is fab on its own, or with a nice glass of Port!

@rosamacrose great to see you are still discovering things at 63. You are a beacon! Peanut butter and jam is a classic (plum is my fave) but I've never tried it with marmite. I do like a salty flavour though.

@augustusglupe Nostalgia is underrated, I think. My food memories are of having my first curry as a teenager, the cakes my mum used to bake, and the boring monotony of the same bland English food every week as a child.

@Sauvingnonblanketyblank I'm craving peanuts now. Thanks for that.

@Zorayda What sort of seaweed? I love dark choc with something salty.

@CrispbuttyNo1 Sardines on toast. Another childhood nightmare. Bleeeuuugghh. Grin

@Bbang Yummy indeed. Classic combo that.

@huggybear In my defence, it was a fancy quiche. Ya know, the poncey premium range type.

DH and I tonight discovered the weird sounding but actually amazing pepperoni with mayonnaise. Basically he threw a bit of pepperoni from his pizza at me, it landed in my mayo and I jokingly ate it, to discover how amazing a combo it was. He's not even a mayo fan and agreed with me when he gave it a go. If it affects things at all, it was a hot crispy slice, typical of a pepperoni pizza, and Hellmanns mayonnaise. Grin
