To ask for your success after miscarriages stories?

I'll start by stating that I know there are a lot of people who are a lot less fortunate than me and have been on this miserable journey for a lot longer.

I'm 29, have a 2 year old son, started TTC no2 at Christmas and 2019 has brought two miscarriages so far.

My GP has been quite dismissive due to me having already conceived and birthed a child with my husband. He says it's likely "bad luck" and I'm hoping he is right because I'm not sure how many times I can go through this.

I'm just looking for other people's' stories? I would love another child to complete our family, I'm surrounded by other couples announcing their happy news and I'm just quite bitter that I've lost two beans already this year - I can't seem to catch a break!

I had 2 miscarriages and went to a private dr for tests as I couldn’t face going through a third one. Fortunately my third pregnancy went to term and now watching 4 month DD sleeping on the baby monitor :).

I have lupus which often causes pregnancy complications, although I ended up testing negative for clotting issues that often cause miscarriages. So it was probably just bad luck but I was put on baby aspirin and increased dosage of hydroxychloroquine for the rest of pregnancy.

Interesting, that’s the first time I’ve heard of hydroxychloroquine (Plaquenil) being used in non-rheumatic pregnancies! Plaq is the baseline medication for lupus which I was taking every day, but they quadrupled my dose for pregnancy. It works by supressing autoimmune anti-body production which may be similar to maternal nk cells.

@pomfluff yes I have a few friends with lupus who are on it and were really interested when I said I'd been prescribed it. Theory is that it, with the prednisolone, suppresses the nk cells enough to get through the first trimester until baby produces its own defences against the nk cells. I don't think anything has been published yet but I know quite a few people through support groups on same treatment who also found it was successful and have had babies. I took prednisolone until 12 weeks and hydroxy until 20 weeks.

10 Mc all before six weeks, no apparent reason, then last year got pregnant again and now I've got a 5 month old daughter.

I had 2 miscarriages and then went on to have 2 DC. I had another miscarriage last year but am now pregnant again. I'm very sorry for your losses. Wishing you luck and hugs x

Hi, for you ladies that were given steroids (prednisolone I assume?) Can I ask at which week you started tapering down the dosage? Thanks xx
