I've been denying it but AIBU given that I've just tidied our bedroom and unearthed 2 pairs of trousers, 1 top, 4 T-shirts, 1 skirt and 1 jacket?

Oh, and a scarf and 2 pairs of boots!

Shopping absolutely can be an addiction. It's a type of what's known as a "process addiction" (other examples can be food, sex, and gambling).

I agree that you need to take some time off from shopping. Maybe find something else to do with your time and stay away from situations that entice you to shop (e.g. if you need to buy groceries, go to a shop that's stand-alone rather than one on the high street or in a shopping center). Another option is to put yourself on a strict budget and take it out in cash every week. Don't take your cards with you unless absolutely necessary. This makes you more aware of how much you're actually spending.

Depending on how things go, you may also find counselling helpful.
