DS not well so currently in bed with us asleep lying on me! DH is snoring on the other side. I've just decided I'm really hungry and really fancy a cheese and onion toastie! (Have a a couple of drinks this evening and now a bit peckish) so should i wake him up to get me some food or lie here trapped in the middle of the bed starving? I tried texting dds but no reply so guess the whole house is sleeping except me!

How about forgetting about the cheese toastie.

But then again I never wake up during the night feeling hungry. In fact I can get up in the morning if I'm busy not eat anything until the evening.

I do go to the lot in the night so that would be the issue for me if a if DC was asleep on top of me. Can't you just wiggle slowly from underneath him?

Notanidiot · 03/05/2019 23:31

Aagh!
Go to the toilet that is.

Cherrysherbet · 03/05/2019 23:32

No, I wouldn’t do that! I’d try and wriggle out carefully, or go to sleep!

SilviaSalmon · 03/05/2019 23:34

YABU to put onion in your cheese toastie. What you need is pickle in there. Yum!

CIT80 · 03/05/2019 23:37

Do it !!!! 😂 and report back ! Then when he goes mental everyone will tell you to LTB 😂😂 !
Just think if you eat that now it will give you heartburn xx

Greeborising · 03/05/2019 23:37

If someone woke me up to make them a toastie I would either tell them to ‘jog on’ fart and roll over
Or
Get up, make the toastie and ceremoniously shove it up their arse

Mythreefavouritethings · 03/05/2019 23:37

Hmm, would need to think about the pickle option. Anyone managed to persuade someone to make a toastie yet?

Greeborising · 03/05/2019 23:39

YES you are being UNREASONABLE!

foreverhanging · 04/05/2019 00:28

I would go bloody mental. My dh knows never ever to wake me up.

foreverhanging · 04/05/2019 00:28

That said, if you were waking me up to give me a cheese Toastie .... Grin

LadyB49 · 04/05/2019 00:33

Get up and make cheese toastie and go back to ds bed :)

Darlingheart · 04/05/2019 00:37

OOOooooo did you wake him? Grin Do lets us know!!! I'd be furious if I got woken up for that! Hahaha!!

MissGruffalo · 04/05/2019 00:43

I’d go fucking nuts if I was woken up and asked to make someone a bloody toastie!

Make it your self, your kid will be fine, he’s not a baby.

Actually, it’s pretty late, a toastie will not sit well this time of night! x

StillCoughingandLaughing · 04/05/2019 00:45

Get your own bloody sandwich, you lazy cow.

Greeborising · 04/05/2019 01:13

Still 👍😂

tillytrotter1 · 04/05/2019 01:15

Would you appreciate being woken up to get him a sandwich or would it be LTB??

julensaor · 04/05/2019 01:20

Try it, I want to see what happens!!

HerRoyalNotness · 04/05/2019 01:21

Did you do it yet? I’d try to quietly get up and make it myself, but DH would spring awake anyway, with an ‘uh’ and comedy arms, as if I’d woken him from the dead. Most likely he’d have been fake sleeping. So he might as well have done it for me

Greeborising · 04/05/2019 02:57

Just tried an experiment.
Prodded my husband in the back and said “ darling, I’m a bit peckish, would you be an absolute angel and go downstairs to make me a cheese & onion toastie?”
He said (and I quote)
“What the fuck you daft tart go to sleep”
I rest my case

Aquamarine1029 · 04/05/2019 03:02

Your son is SIX?! Get your arse out of bed and make your own food. FFS, I thought your child was a baby.

PregnantSea · 04/05/2019 03:56

Gently push you son off you into your husband and make the toastie yourself. He will go back to sleep

BlackCatSleeping · 04/05/2019 03:59

It's funny that the OP would wake her husband over shifting the cats.

Alicewond · 04/05/2019 04:03

Wait so you’ve had a couple of drinks, ds is poorly asleep next to you, so others should feed you because you can’t be bothered to move more than to text and ask mumsnet for advice?

grumpyyetgorgeous · 04/05/2019 04:19

This is ridiculous and (I hope) not completely serious. It's the middle of the night, you don't need food now. Even if you did though it would be very very demanding to expect a partner to start making it for you.

practicallyperfectwithprosecco · 04/05/2019 07:45

Well I tried to wriggle out of bed without waking anyone however ds was first to wake and promptly vomited all over the bed and floor. So dh was woken to deal with him - he slept through it, whilst I cleaned up the sick and changed to bed.

After that I didn't feel like eating.
