about my favourite DVD?

So I’m in a bit of a long term flirting situation with a guy. We have very similar taste in films and about 6 weeks ago I lent him a copy of my favourite DVD. He knows this is my all time favourite film (I’m not saying what it is because it would be too outing if he read the thread!). The thing is, he hasn’t watched it yet. Now I know that these past 5 weeks have been insanely busy for him at work and he told me that he’s been collapsing on the sofa at night and just hasn’t had a chance to watch it.

AIBU to think that him not watching my favourite DVD means he’s not all that in to me?

For context, if the roles were reversed I’d want to watch it asap as I feel it would bring me closer to him. Are guys just different? Or is he just too busy? Or just not that into me?

I've been with my husband 5 years. He won't watch my favourite film and I'm still refusing to watch Star Wars!

We don't like the same films but it doesn't matter one bit. We binge watch TV series instead!

@trixie yep! 5 years later now with an 18 month old!

I don't know why but I'm reading your posts in a very young voice @Trixie82

My favourite film gives no indication on what I'm like so DH didn't learn anything about me from it, it's old and he's seen it before anyway

Very odd. Desperate to watch it to feel closer to him?? My favourite film (films as I’m so indecisive I couldn’t pick) bear no resemblance on me as a person or my personality so it wouldn’t make you understand me at all. I love A Few Good Men - doesn’t mean I want to join the marines!

It comes across as very needy. Plus, I get bored watching films on my own I like to watch with someone or watch box sets!

Why don’t you watch the dvd together? You clearly like the film so I’m sure you’re willing to watch It again and you cab witness someone watching a film you like for the first time.

Just asked DP again and I've never watched his favourite film at all. I keep saying I'm going to but never got round to it like I said earlier.

Watching with him would be nice but I’d feel weird suggesting it.
