Birthday goodie bags ...

Posting for traffic.

Would you be happy with following birthday bag for kids to take home

  • 2 mini packs of Haribo
  • bouncy ball
  • 2 tiny animal figures (2-3cm)
  • 2 temporary animal tattoos
  • cake (cake isn't in yet ofc)

I've just made them up for DCs party on Sunday and there doesn't seem to be much in the bags at all...

Im quite a worrier/anxious organiser in general so not sure if there's anything else I should put in to fill them up a bit more or am I just overthinking this?

I think that is quite generous! The bag will look fuller when you put the cake in.

SoupDragon · 02/05/2019 14:48

That's absolutely fine.

BaronessBomburst · 02/05/2019 14:49

You're overthinking it! In my experience the children are just excited about getting a bag and finding things in it.
How old are they?

Sparklingbrook · 02/05/2019 14:49

My two would have loved that when they were younger. Brace yourself though!

implantsandaDyson · 02/05/2019 14:51

You're just overthinking it - sounds perfect. My youngest was at a party a few days ago, I couldn't tell you what was in the party bag.

CalmdownJanet · 02/05/2019 14:54

What age are they. It's funny, I'm in Ireland and we waits someone else from Ireland to disagree with me but I have never ever seen cake in a party bag and here you'd most likely get a bag of crisps, fun size bar, haribos and maybe one thing like a bouncy ball/novelty pen or pencil/tattoo but it's mainly about the sugar here

birthdaymayhem · 02/05/2019 14:56

Kids will be between ages of 4 one 5 and a couple of 6 year olds.

It might be because the bags are rather large (I had lots of white paper ones with handles left from something we had on a while ago so using them 7inch by 9 inch tall I think) it seems a bit empty.

I've also put little stickers on saying thank you for coming to my party etc

Yes! The last ones I did had:

I pack match attax cards
Cake
Punch balloon
Mini smarties pack
Mini skittles pack
Lollipop

More than enough (too many sweets really).

The only comment I'd have for you is that I'm not sure Haribo are Halal so I usually avoid them in party bags but that might not be an issue for you.

Gingerkittykat · 02/05/2019 15:13

A tub of bubbles always goes down well.

Don't stress, the kids won't care what you put in and the parents will be glad of not having too much plastic crap to deal with if you don't put in any more.

TheGrey1houndSpeaks · 02/05/2019 15:15

It sounds fine. You can get Halal Haribo, Lamentations. But no, of course the usual ones aren’t.

LaurieMarlow · 02/05/2019 15:16

That’s perfect, you don’t need more.

They fucking love party bags at that age. Mine is obsessed with his little bag of tat. Grin

Em308 · 02/05/2019 15:18

I used to bulk them out with a lolly, those 10p flumps and a small bag of crisps (space raiders multipacks are £1 for 10 bags). Makes you look very generous.

LaurieMarlow · 02/05/2019 15:18

I know I said you don’t need anything else and that still stands, but a balloon is always good (and cheap).

LongWalkShortPlank · 02/05/2019 15:26

I've been over thinking this too. I bought these cheap smiley face cups instead of bags and I'm just going to put a couple of mini sweets, pencil and a bookmark or something in them since the cup is functional too. But idk!
