Admittedly I'm a bit OTT obsessed with my own pets and animals in general so maybe I'm being a bit precious about this.
We haven't lived in our house long but around a week ago, I was leaving for work and saw a dog wondering down the road (busy main road). I waited for a minute or two to see if the owner appeared but when they didn't I got out and this dog came straight over and was super friendly. I got him on a lead and knocked on a few doors up the road.
Quite a way up the road a lady pointed me to the house it belonged to (a few doors down from me) and said that it's constantly getting out and the people there are never appreciative when you bring it back.
I took it to the house and no one answered so in the end I had to drop him at my local vets as I was already late for work by this point!
Later on that evening, I was walking my own dog and bumped into another lady that I often see on my walks and who also lives on our road. She told me that someone had just knocked on her door and asked if this dog they'd found running down the road was hers. I showed her a picture of the one I found that morning and it was the same dog.
Fast forward to last night when someone knocked on our door with the same dog asking if it was ours!
I don't like to judge, really I don't. But we live on a busy main road and this is obviously a common occurrence, I'm worried it's going to end up dead one day!
At the same time, I don't like to get involved in other people's business so don't feel it's my place to say anything.
WWYD?
