Second time I've jumped in to this category when it probably doesn't quite belong.. but unsure where else to ask it.

Parents are approaching their 25th wedding anniversary, and we want to mark the occasion.

There will be approx 30 of us attending (just their children, partners and grandchildren), ranging from adult to newborn.

Thinking of booking a restaurant but with that many, is it worth it, because we'll just be spread on separate tables anyway?

But unsure how else we can get everyone together to celebrate?

They wouldn't like a party (the boys get too carried away WineGin).

What would you suggest we do to mark the occasion, on a Saturday afternoon?

Room in a pub or a really nice hall with a buffet? Up to the adults not to get hammered...

Picnic in a park if it's nice?

Private dining room in a restaurant to seat 30.

Take over an entire small restaurant.

Room in a hotel that does events - well used to catering for 30.

Function room in a pub with buffet food.

Lots of possibilities.

Just ring around and ask who can accommodate a table for thirty. They will be glad of your custom! Many places (hotels?) would put you in a private room.

Catering? I.e. at home.

I'd do a home BBQ with outside caterers.

A group of friends I'm part of like to get together about once a year. Few different ages of children.

We hire a village hall next to a park and everyone brings something to eat / drink. We picnic if its nice, inside if its chilly.

We set up a craft/colouring table, some people bring games, ride ons or bikes. Happy Kids makes for happy parents and we all get to relax.

If you don't want to get people to bring buffet items you could order take away / get caterers.
