AIBU to think that going to Tunisia might still be risky?

Lots of cheap holidays to Tunisia advertised at the moment as tour companies have opened up the market for these again.

Adult DD is going in a weeks time. She and BF have got a really great deal. It worries me, but is obviously her decision.

Has anyone else been to Tunisia recently?

Well the Foreign Office advise against it in regard to several areas in Tunisia and there is a State Of Emergency out there still which was extended on 6th April this year for another month.

This will be worrying for you. Just tell her (if she will listen...) to stay away from crowds and crowded places and to respect night curfews if they are in place where they are going.

KittiKat

Thanks. She is perfectly sensible (now 28) and they are staying in an all inclusive resort. They just want a cheap chill out break.
I will certainly pass on the foreign travel advice.

DD has recently started work again after 3 years at uni as a mature student, so getting something cheap was top of the list. You do get what you pay for though.

If they are in an all inclusive hotel, it will probably be gated and there will be security all around so that hopefully will make you worry less. They won't be allowed out at night because of risks and to be honest, as you say, they just want sand, sea and cheap drinks and a happy time! I hope she enjoys it.

Omg no! There's a reason it's so cheap! Have they already booked it?

HazelNutinEveryBite · 30/04/2019 02:17

Rosesaredead

Yes they have booked it and are grown ups, so hopefully all will go well for them.

Make sure their travel insurance is up to scratch r.e. foreign office travel guidelines.

Lots of cheaper policies limit cover in areas with active do not travel advice etc.
