Kids always fighting!!!

My dd's are 10 and 11. They're always bickering, fighting and screaming at eachother. I'm at the end of my tether with it. They're driving me mad. Pretty much every conversation and every meal time ends in them arguing and me playing referee.
They're behaviour towards me isn't great either. They're rude, entitled and obnoxious. This isn't how I brought them up. It's getting to the stage I don't want to be around them as horrible as that sounds.

What can I do?

My two have improved recently thank god, but used to bicker constantly. I honestly found it hellish. Sorry I have no actual advice but lots of sympathy!

My DD's are 14&17 it doesn't get better I'm afraid 🙈

megletthesecond · 29/04/2019 19:13

Same. For example I hate having showers because I can hear the noise but I can't step in for a few minutes.
12 and 10.

I end up spending too much money on days out at weekends so they can be on neutural territory and we can be normal for a few hours.

I have boys but they could get a bit like that if they spent too much time together. Do they have their own space? Own interests and hobbies?

curiousgeorgie247 · 29/04/2019 19:14

Thanks @formerbabe. Sometimes it's nice to know I'm not alone. Or maybe there's light at the end of the tunnel.
They get on so well sometimes. Other times its like they cant even breathe the same air as eachother.
Their whole attitudes are disgusting. If it's not one it's the other. But usually both Sad

I hate it when my two fight. Hate it. My strategy is to, immediately, ask them both to go their respective rooms. I dont get involved with who was right and who said what. It works at the moment. They are allowed to come out once they're ready to be civil.

curiousgeorgie247 · 29/04/2019 19:17

They're in different years at school so do have their own friends but the have the same friends in our neighbourhood and are usually together. They have seperste bedrooms (thank God!!) They do guides together but the rest of their clubs are different.

Separate*

@arethereanyleftatall I'll try that but I doubt they'd stay in their rooms. They're uncontrollable at times. Especially the youngest.

We had a brief phase of this when mine were about 12 and 7. The rule was that I don’t want to hear it. Arguing is allowed, disturbing me with the noise is not. They had to speak to each other in respectful, friendly tones or go outside to argue. They couldn’t be arsed to go outside so they jacked it in. 18 and 13 now, best friends.

curiousgeorgie247 · 29/04/2019 19:24

I daren't send them outside. They sound like Hyenas. Its bad enough our immediate neighbours can hear them through the walls.

Tbh op they don't always stay in their rooms that long. Sometimes they get involved in playing something and do. But as long as they come out, find a different place in the house to their sister, and quit arguing, I don't care.

Bunnica15 · 29/04/2019 20:02

Mine seem to only get on when they’re conspiring against me in some way 😂
