No point renting a flat if single?

Have come across the view a lot - esp in London for context where rents are super high.
Is it unreasonable to not want to share if you’re single?
Do most people think it’s a waste of money renting your own place?

I rented a flat on my own when I was single (in London). I prioritised having my space over holidays etc. So I could avoid the flat share

Why do you care so much what other people think? You can do the maths yourself re the costs, they are what they are.

When I lived in a houseshare one advantage was that we could afford somewhere central between us whereas on my own I’d have been further out. But I also shared with people I knew from University so we were already friends. It was great socially as we socialised both separately and together so all met each others’ new friends and had great parties. I indirectly met my husband through that original houseshare.

But I knew plenty of people at the same stage in life who lived alone and never thought their choices were weird or even that unusual. And the older you get the more common it is.
