Obviously I'm not BU...but I read this article this morning and I was quite surprised.
I don't want to worry those with any kind of health anxiety but I do think it's worth knowing...
I can easily see how possibly lung cancer symptoms could be overlooked in someone who has never smoked but the instances of lung cancer in people who haven't smoked is on the increase, and more so in women than men.
Symptoms are:
- A cough that doesn't go away or gets worse
- Chest pain that is often worse with laughing or deep breathing
- Hoarseness
- Loss of weight or appetite
- Shortness of breath
- Feeling tired or weak
- Coughing up rust coloured sputum (or blood)
- Bone pain (e.g. in hips or back)
You don't need to have all of the symptoms - one woman was diagnosed after going to her GP with just a persistent hoarseness to her throat/voice.
