Uncle's behaviour

Dimebag10M · 28/04/2019 22:21

My DGrandad passed away today.

Background - My uncle has always been a narcissist and every person who knows him has a strong dislike for him, including all our family and even my DGrandad. He steals from anyone vulnerable enough. He is being catfished by a lady in another country, who he has pretty much told her he is a millionaire... He in fact lives with my grandparents, bankrupt, stealing and manipulating my nan.

Anyways - the undertakers came to the home to take my DGrandad away... And uncle decided to grab his IPad and livestream the undertakers wrapping and removing his body! AIBU to be so fricking angry at the complete lack of disrespect to my wonderful grandad??

YANBU wtf?! What did he livestream it onto?! That's awful! If it was onto Facebook then I would report it and hopefully it will be blocked. Hope you're ok sorry to hear about your grandad x

Ayemama · 28/04/2019 22:25

YANBU! Who the fuck does that? Definitely not ok.

marvellousnightforamooncup · 28/04/2019 22:25

YANBU. That's appalling behaviour.

I'm so sorry for your loss and that this horry man is making it all so much harder.

marvellousnightforamooncup · 28/04/2019 22:26

Horrible not horry.

I stood there open mouthed having no clue what to say! My DM said 'you aren't filming this?!' and he tried to intimidate her saying his girlfriend deserved to be part of it - she doesn't speak English and you can tell when you see her on Skype she doesn't give a shit. He then sat there blowing her kisses continually saying how he can't wait to see her and that she's the love of his life... All whilst his mum is absolutely broken sitting there having lost her husband of 64 years... I've never hated someone so much

I should say I was so angry writing the OP that I negated to proof read - should read 'lack of respect'

Holy shit
Disrespectful man

WellThisIsShit · 29/04/2019 01:37

And yes, your despicable vile uncle proves my ‘life learning’, which is that death and bereavement brings out the absolute worst in people.

It’s a learning I wish I didn’t know. And I wish you, your poor grandma, and family also hadn’t been exposed to today either.

Some people really are scum, they can’t resist behaving badly just when others are at their most vulnerable and need their loved ones to behave like kind, sensitive, caring people; basically like normal human beings!

Let’s put the attention back where it should be....

I’m so sorry this happened to you, and most of all, I’m so sorry for your loss. He sounds like a wonderful man, and one day, many days from now, when your grieving is not so raw, I hope you’ll be able to take heart and feel happy he was in your life, and you got to love him, and he got to love you too Flowers

b0bb1n · 29/04/2019 01:47

You're not being unreasonable. That is disgusting and shocking.

TheMaddHugger · 29/04/2019 03:08

Wow. So UnBelieVable

IggyAce · 29/04/2019 04:25

So sorry for your loss.
Very odd and disrespectful behaviour from your Uncle.

Dimebag10M · 29/04/2019 10:51

Thank you all for your replies... I feel so angry that now I cant properly grieve. I am angry my lovely DGrandad has died, but I am so livid I think I'm capable of going to prison if I see my uncle!!

TheMaddHugger · 29/04/2019 12:07

pressed enter before finishing my thoughts.

No One would convict you

PlinkPlink · 29/04/2019 12:13

You poor thing OP. CondolencesFlowers

What the fuck? No one reacts like that. Awful man. Clearly has no respect for his father or for others. Be good to get shot of him if you could.

In the meantime, I guess all you can do is protect your nan and go from there.

You shouldn't be dealing with his behaviour and grief at the same time.

Dimebag10M · 30/04/2019 08:21

Honestly I thank you all for your replies... Its been a hard few days, particularly my Uncle tried to kick us out the house saying my nan needed to have some time alone, for my nan to beg us not to leave as she was frightened to be alone! Its going to be hard times ahead
