I'm torn. Could be good, could be a load of shite.

AIBU to be sceptical?

I bought some of the Babycups today (DS 6 months old and about to start weaning)

How do the 360 cups work? Are they as spill proof as they claim? I'm thinking they may be a good option for out and about

BabyDarlingDollfaceHoney · 28/04/2019 18:38

My 8.5 month old can drink independently from it now. Very good in my opinion.

Aragog · 28/04/2019 18:44

Not seen one of those for a while. DD had then when she was small - she's now 17y. They worked for us. We didn't really use sappy cups with spouts on. She went from breast feeding (for a short while) to bottle to dowdy cup to normal cups.

Aragog · 28/04/2019 18:45

Well - overlap with bottle (milk) and doidy cup (water and later when a little older juice).

Karwomannghia · 28/04/2019 18:46

Dd went from 360 to a normal cup. She drinks out of anything now but still likes the 360 for milk so she can lie down!

Karwomannghia · 28/04/2019 18:47

The 360 cups have a rubber seal which means you have to suck to get the liquid out but you can suck at any part of the rim. They’re leak proof to an extent; they do wear out with lots of use.

raviolidreaming · 28/04/2019 18:58

We didn't really use sappy cups with spouts on

I hope this is a typo for 'sippy'!

Singlebutmarried · 28/04/2019 19:06

Shite

Aragog · 29/04/2019 12:28

Oops yes! Sippy cup, sorry

Crunchymum · 29/04/2019 12:30

It's the reason my 15mo got rid of her NG tube.

She was tube fed for the first year. Only way she can take the daily volume she needs is via a doidy cup.

user1471426142 · 29/04/2019 14:20

Shite and we tried all of the popular cups. The health visitors pushed it really early and my daughter just tipped it over herself. Went from the tommy tippee cup with the lid then without it and then straight into a normal cup. We we never really got on with the 360 either annoyingly but straw type ones worked better for us. The doidy just felt more fiddly than a normal cup.

sosoverytired · 29/04/2019 14:28

Horrible. 360 all the way.

outvoid · 29/04/2019 14:30

We’re about to start weaning and I bought one of these after hearing great things. DS is EBF and a bottle refuser so I figured he won’t take a sippy cup, seemed like the best solution. Now starting to wonder whether I’ve made a mistake Grin.

DorotheaHomeAlone · 29/04/2019 14:31

Worked great for my two.

30under · 29/04/2019 14:31

Don't bother. Simple tommy Tippee cup works just fine.

SoundofSilence · 29/04/2019 14:33

I got a free one along the way and DS2 got on really well with it.

redcaryellowcar · 29/04/2019 14:41

I remember reading that shying that requires sucking wasn't good for teeth so tried doidy cups, which didn't really work. We went from tommy tippy sippy cups, straight into plastic open top brackets and actually (because we have relatively soft floors) chunky small glasses cheap from Sainsburys as they seemed to spill less with a sturdier heavier glass. My youngest was so keen to be 'grown up' that he tried cups much earlier than my first.

AlexaAmbidextra · 29/04/2019 15:33

Well just the name Doidy by a company called Bickiepegs would be stupid enough to put me off.

dementedpixie · 29/04/2019 15:41

Do you not remember bickiepegs? They were hard teething biscuits. Wonder if they still make them

racewhorse · 29/04/2019 17:43

They still do the biscuit things

I found it pointless only used it for a few weeks baby never got to grips with it

toptomatoes · 29/04/2019 18:00

We didn’t find it very useful and just used tommee tippees.

racewhorse · 29/04/2019 18:06

I'm going to stick with the 360

raviolidreaming · 29/04/2019 18:15

Aragog phew! I can't be having sippy cups be the new thing everyone gets weird and sanctimonious about! Obviously my DC went straight from breast to Emma Bridgewater tea set though 😉

AnxietyDream · 29/04/2019 18:26

I just taught to use a normal small open cup at the table from 6 months, then when they get older and want to carry a drink round/have one by bed etc used the 360 for the non spill factor.
