Missing parcels/post...

I bought a small item of a lady on FB, it cost me £12.80 with first class signed for postage! Iv got home yesterday to this slip through my door! There should of been 3 parcels at my door a large one from amazon, 1 from eBay and a small one from this lady, they were all gone 😡 asked her for tracking to see if it had actually been given to a neighbour as it should of been signed for and I got back 'sent standard first class by mistake so oh you £1' so obviously the parcel has just been left at my door with the others and someone has seen them and taken them!!

Were do I stand? As she has tracking to say it has been delivered but not signed for ? She has told me she has spoke to a friend who works in a post office and I need to ring the police for a crime number so I can claim??

Amazon are going to refund me for there parcel same with eBay, I also will be complaining to my local post office about parcels being left at the door!!

Any advice?

Surely if you paid for and we're expecting tracking, the seller is responsible. Did you use PayPal, if so ask for refund?

Chartreuser · 28/04/2019 09:03

eBay will find in your favour as she can't prove it was delivered. Raise a case

minisoksmakehardwork · 28/04/2019 09:05

Claim back through PayPal if you sent payment via goods and services.

minisoksmakehardwork · 28/04/2019 09:06

And if she sent it tracked via Royal Mail I thought that was signed for...

Bibijayne · 28/04/2019 09:10

You're in luck here. The vendor is legally responsible for the parcel until you receive it (this does not include leaving outside your home, unless you have opted for this). You are entitled to a full refund / replacement of all missing items. The vendor must then claim from the postal service they used for the loss. With the eBay item, open a dispute with PayPal.

I had the same but it was a big chain store. The delivery driver sent me an email with a picture of the package on my front door step! When I got home 4 hours later, no package. It would probably have been fine on my back door step which is completely accessable, but you can't see it from the street. I contacted the company and they took 2 months to "investigate" what had happened. They didn't contact me once, I had to pester them. It was worth £100 so I was definitely not letting it go. I eventually got a refund.
Open a case with eBay or Amazon. You should have the money refunded. Ultimately though it is the delivery companies who should be reliable when their drivers are leaving packages in stupid places. I have several places in the garden where it could have been hidden.

missingpost · 28/04/2019 09:16

@Bibijayne @minisoksmakehardwork
This is what she has sent me... so she sent it so the postman had to say it had been delivered but it didn't have to be signed for! So the postman is at fault but also the seller as I paid for signed for delivery because of this!

If the amazon parcel which was large wasn't left at the door it would of been fine as the item was very small so wouldn't of been seen but someone must of seen the big amazon box and then seen the smaller 2 when they took that! They will be very happy with there Childs car tray, car air freshener and toilet brush 😂😂😂

This happened to me with a parcel from Monsoon. Delivery driver faked my signature and claimed he left it on the doorstep. Hermes, of course. They are completely disinterested even though it cost quite a lot of money. Does anyone have any experience with Monsoon? They keep saying the delivery driver isn't responding.

missingpost · 28/04/2019 09:32

@SevenSeasofRye really winds me up! Im away next weekend so if any parcels get left I wont even know! Might leave a note on my door from now on not to leave parcels unless with neighbour 🙄 xx

So she didn't send it tracked. She cant show tracking to eBay with proof of delivery and you will get a full refund. Put in an eBay claim for non receipt.

tanpestryfirescreen · 28/04/2019 09:37

Ignore above- I didnt see the final screenshot. Did she give you the full tracking number? or the redacted version you have attached. You can then see which sorting office it was sent from

IceRebel · 28/04/2019 09:40

How did you pay for the item? If paypal you might struggle to get a refund. She has proof it has been delivered. Yes it's not the signed for service you requested, but the RM website tracking shows it has arrived.

Pimmsypimms · 28/04/2019 09:54

I had a parcel go missing last week by Royal Mail. I called up customer complaints (took bloody ages to get through!) mine was slightly different as the postie couldn't remember actually posting it, anyaway, you'll probably find that unless you've previously asked the postie to leave parcels there, you should be able to make a claim from them. It's does take absolutely ages to get through tho.

minisoksmakehardwork · 28/04/2019 10:36

That just looks like a postage label! Nothing to say it was actually sent or signed for. Proof of posting is a receipt and tracked delivery gives a long line of numbers which you can put into track your item on the Royal Mail website. That's what she needs to give you so you can see where it was delivered to.

minisoksmakehardwork · 28/04/2019 10:38

It appears you can send it tracked with or without signature but you still need the tracking number. Not a picture of a postage label which could be to anywhere and might not actually have been sent.

minisoksmakehardwork · 28/04/2019 10:39

I take it you didn't PayPal payment goods and services either.

IceRebel · 28/04/2019 10:40

The OPs pictures show a tracking number (although scribbled out, I assume to protect OPs address)

The seller has proof it has been delivered, if you paid by paypal it may be difficult to get a refund as they will ask the seller to provide tracking which she can do.

IceRebel · 28/04/2019 10:42

I take it you didn't PayPal payment goods and services either.

I hadn't even thought about that, if OP paid friends and family then unfortunately there's no chance of getting a refund.

missingpost · 28/04/2019 11:03

@minisoksmakehardwork yes I paid for goods,

@IceRebel got it, the tracking number and label both lead to my full address hence why I didn't show them 😂 I will contact royal mail tomorrow and see what they say, such a pain in the ass!! At least I know my postwoman's name 😂

OP posts:
minisoksmakehardwork · 28/04/2019 11:11

At least you can raise a claim through PayPal and get full costs back. I know it doesn't help when you want the goods but it's better than losing everything.

Bibijayne · 28/04/2019 14:32

Doesn't matter. If they were left outside your house and the stolen, the vendor is reliable. They are thrones in contract with their chosen postal service. You are entitled to a full refund from all vendors.

Bibijayne · 28/04/2019 14:35

*responsible. Argh autocorrect.

Inrestlessdreamsiwalkalone · 28/04/2019 16:25

She should refund you all the money and then raise a claim herself through royal mail to get her money back.

Doesn't matter if it was Ebay, she can provide message and screenshots to prove item value and postage value
